Everything was working fine, used product several times, after refilling clean solution tank unit started emptying itself at an excessive rate, (faster than if trigger were held down). Attempted removing and reseating tank to no avail, seems like trigger broke, but would/could it break in open position? One would think a broken dispensing trigger would result in no no dispensing. No visible signs of cracked reservoir, no obvious broken pieces.
Actual model is :F5860-900 Hoover Steamvac deluxe series;17:9
Maverick_bea may be describing a different model than mine... but on my Steam Vac, remove the clean water tank... and locate the black rubber gromet seal. JUST BEHIND the gromet is an opening that allows you to see the trigger actuator. Inspect that actuator while operating the trigger. I suspect that you may have something stuck in that space that is preventing the actuator from restoring to the closed position. Careful inspection should clarify the problem (and the solution.....
In some cases the reservoir that the tank sits on would have to be replaced. best way to tell is, if you take the tank off and pour a little water in the valve where the rubber gramet is. if it holds the water its good, but if it goes down without you pressing the trigger then it will be the reservoir.

Wendy, I have the same model Bissell as you and this is going to sound silly.... The spray tank runs out of solution allot faster than you would expect it to. Remove the tank, dump out all the used stuff, and refill your solution tank. You never know that it is empty until you dump out the waste tank! 20 minutes sounds about right for a full solution tank to run dry. Good Luck! Thanks for using FixYa!

buy a new solution tank. the problem might be that your not rinsing the tank with clear water after use and the soap hardens on the release button of the tank.
Mine constantly leaked as well but I found that if I remove the container will the solution in it after every use it doesn't leak anymore. I store my container (upright - nozzle face up) under the sink with my other cleaning products and when I need to use the machine I pull it back out, pop it in and clean. HTH
If your Scooba's Green Check Tank light is coming on immediately on startup, please try the following steps:
1. Remove and reseat Scooba's battery, ensuring that you hear it click into place. 2. Remove and reseat the brush head 3. Remove and reseat the vacuum port and filter. When replacing the filter, be sure to press firmly into the hole. There is a magnet on the filter that must connect with the magnet on the Scooba. 4. Fill Scooba’s Clean Tank with approximately 1 cup of cold water, shake vigorously, and empty it to remove any debris in the tank. 5. Empty the Dirty Tank, refill with water, and slosh it around to pick up any sediment. Empty the Dirty Tank again. 6. Refill Scooba’s Clean Tank with water, adding a pinch or two of table salt. Run the Scooba. If the issue persists, please follow the steps below:
With the tank removed, press the Power button and then the Clean button.
If the robot tries to start a cleaning cycle, power off the robot and repeat, pressing the Power button first and then the Clean button. If the pump makes a “whirring” or squirting sound and the robot does not start a cleaning cycle (Check Tank indicator will light), this indicates that the pump is working. Replace the tank and try starting a new cleaning cycle with the tank on.
If Scooba does begin a cleaning cycle the second time you press the Power and then the Clean button with the tank removed, the pump valve could be blocked with debris. Using a turkey baster, straw or sports bottle, force water through Scooba’s solution valve. Confirm that the baster, straw or sports bottle fits snugly over Scooba’s solution valve, push water through the system at least three times, and then try re-starting Scooba.

Heres a link to the manual if you dont have one, Ive emailed them and they gave me the same solutions that are on page 17.
? Make sure tank is securely locked in
position
? Clean water tank or detergent
container empty
? Refill container according to instructions
for surface being cleaned
? Recovery tank lid not on
correctly
? Make sure lid is firmly in place
? Valve cap clogged
? Remove and clean valve cap (see following
instructions)
1. Remove clean water tank.
2. Turn valve cap (A) counterclockwise
and remove.
Soak valve cap in warm water for at
least 15 minutes. Wipe cap dry.
3. Align slots (B) on cap with tabs (C) in
opening.
Turn cap clockwise to tighten.
Check the seal that the clean water tank sits on, may have come loose. The filter inside the dirty water tank has been pushed up too far, needs to have a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter.
