Question about IT Works Cameras

1 Answer

My K30 suddenly started taking all dark photos yesterday. I was shooting an event a work, everything was going fine, I went to break..came back.. and nothing on the screen.

The only thing I get on the screen is the extreme highlights in a scene. I've made sure the LCD isn't broken.. other than image playback it works fine. When I put the card in a computer the images I reference now are dark too, just as displayed in camera. I've reset the camera to factory default, tried 3 different (including one manual lens) and still nothing. Oddly though, when using the manual lens (a really old 50mm) I get more display but then the camera..after I take a photo..takes more photos or seems to, on it's own. Either it's taking photos or the mirror is flipping up on it's own. Please help.. can't afford a new camera right now

SOURCE: No Image on display screen

Does the play back show any of the pictures you have taken before? are you sure the little lens cover is opening? there is a shield that closes down to keep the lens protected from debris and finger prints. Sometimes they can get jammed and not open. Tap on the front of the lens see if it opens. Switch it to auto mode if its not in auto mode.

Check your plug-in connection at your outlet. Most likely source of power loss. Beyond that, you need a wiring diagram to trouble shoot this issue.

This is an edit of my original problem posted a few minutes ago. I'm replacing a foyer light that is operated by a double light switch ON THE WALL (switch 1 turns on the foyer light, switch 2 turns on...

Wiring is difficult to see without clear description of each wire inside the box... and more difficult when folks take wiring apart without taking photo of wiring before starting. Then they throw away the old switch,,, so comparison cannot be made to new switch.

That being said:
Did you install a new 3-way switch?
Is it a 3-way switch with 2 brass screws and 1 dark screw and 1 green screw? The dark-colored screw is common screw.

If you installed new 3-way switch, then it is probably wired wrong.
Or there is damage to a wire that is not covered with repair... or both bad wire and wrong wiring.

Look at OLD 3-way switch and identify which screw is the common screw. Should be marked on back of device.
Identify which wire went to common screw on OLD switch.
Look at NEW switch, and identify which is the common screw (dark-colored screw), and then attach OLD common wire to NEW common screw.

Otherwise, put old switch back into box... see if it works... take some photos... attach photos to comment to this thread ... take photo of new switch from back, showing all screws so I can see what is going on.

We can fix it it...and I will be here all evening to assist.

Yes, the flash can burn out or the flash circuit can short out. You can send it in for service but, since it's out of warranty, it will be very expensive. B&H photo has a refurbished one for $70. If you send yours in, what you will get back is a refurbished one....they do not bother to fix point-and -shoot cameras. Your choice.

To autofocus the sensor needs a fair amount of contrast (light and dark eges) to operate. If you're trying to take a photo in a dim room of a dark colored subject for instance the focus won't lock and the camera won't take the picture. Try switching your lens to manual focus and shoot that way.

First thing I'd do is check if everything was connected, vacuum lines, fuel lines, connectors, etc. If all good, check the fuses and fuel pump relay. My guess would be the vac line to the fuel pressure regulator.

LED display on powershot a630 is very dark. It was working fine, and then when I moved the display it suddenly went dark

pershaps that the cable inside to power the lcd is defect. or it could also be that the backlight is defect . those things can be repaired (don't do it your self) but costs could well be higher than buying a new camera
