Cooker keeps tripping the electricity supply.

When the ovens have been on for any length of time there is a smokey smell from the cooker and the RCD at the consumer unit trips. Turning the cooker on after this continues tripping the RCD until the cooker is allowed to cool down. Even with the live supply disconnected the problem persists. Have tried to locate anything burnt or neutral earth fault but have had no luck as yet.
Any solution would be welcome.
thanks

Why does my Candy oven Model FPP 406/1x trip the RCD in my fuse box after 3 minits warming up?

as an appliance engineer sometimes the oven element can be at fault, although this always the case, it could be the thermostat also as they are both interplay when the oven is heating up, they could both be tripping the RCD as the earth is detecting that electricity is becoming live due to a component leaking electricity.
you could try replacing both of them with caution (turning the electricity off in the house ect.. using safety equipment)

a good site to use for those components is the following;

Spare Parts Accessories for Electrical Appliances QuickSpares

usually if they don't have the item in stock on the website you can use the contact option and they usually respond pretty quickly and let you know if they can get the item ( most likely )

Opening oven door trips rcd when up to temp. doesnt do it when cold

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  • Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  • If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  • When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

I have a stoves cooker which was working fine until we upgraded to the seventeeth edition consumer unit and rcds. Now I have a negative earth fault.Rcd trips out, circuit is fine up to the cooker. Any...

The clue will be when the rcd trips out. If everything is switched off on the cooker with the exception of the clock when you power it up and then it trips out, it could be in the wiring to the oven from the control switch and or the wiring in the oven. The only way you are going to find this is to take the oven out of the housing and test the wiring, isolating components until you find the problem.

Have a new electric cooker but the oven and 1 of the hob plates isn't working dc5422 beko

hi chances are that the internal thermal cutout fuse has gone this fuse is situated on the right hand side of the cooker when you have taken the back plate off about half way down it has two wires attached to it and is screwed with a self tap on the right hand corner of the body of the cooker near the middle of the cooker. You can buy this part and have it delivered for about £6 so is a very cheap fix.
