Leaking Noritz water heater.... I have a Noritz N-069m water heater. When i purchased the unit 3 years ago, i was told that if i installed a water softner unit it would void the warranty. A year and a half later the unit failed and caused major water damage of which i covered the repair costs. Now one year after the repair the unit has done the same thing and the damage is more sever. The problem seems to be a heater exchange reservoir. I have now been instructed to install a water softner system, the problem is.... the construction is done and the budget is gone. It seems i am in a real dilemma.

Error 71

EC 71 usually means you are using a battery backup that doesn't produce a pure sine wave. OR you recently had a power outage and it shorted the circuit board. if you have a battery backup try unplugging that and see if it works okay. If not, just call Noritz for a replacement c/b.

I have a Model N-069M and i get a flashing code 16. I just had the unit flushed two days ago and i still get the same code. thanks for any help

I feel your pain. I am experiencing the same issue which started about 3 weeks ago. First it happened twice that first week and we discounted it. Now that my heater has been flushed the same issue is occuring. I called Noritz 3-4 times now and they are saying that I may have high manollowifold pressure and should have that checked.

FollowUp: Plumber determined my Natural Gas inlet line was too small. He Tee'd off before my manifold to other appliances and fed with a 3/4 line. Issue resolved and it has been trouble free since. (Updated 2/2017)

Noritz f 76 error blinking f 76 and on off light blinking at the same time. Everything works fine turned on and off hot h20 it goes to burner on 120 and then goes back to blinking f 76 after burner...

F76 is a communication error between two quick connected heaters. To clear the code, disconnect power from both heaters, wait 20 seconds, then reconnect power.

3 red blinks

sounds like you are getting an ignition failure code. Check the inside of the unit for evidence of a leaking HEX.

I have a Noritz Tankless outside my home on wall for several years. Works fantastic until now. Controller is going blank intermittently. Able to restart after resetting GFCI, plugging and replugging. On...

It sounds like your GFI is tripping. There are two common reasons for this to happen 1) plugged into another GFI 2) moisture on the gfi. I'd look for evidence of a water leak which is tripping your gfi. Look for puddles, water spotting, water hardness, etc.

Noritz tankless water heater not producing hot water

I called Noritz error code 16 is a overheat problem. Noritz say's to flush your coil with vinegar or CLR.
Use a small pump to recirculate the CLR or vinegar through the system for 45 minutes and flush with fresh water. This worked for me.
