Hello Sir, Hi, there was no support for windows 7 for this motherboard. to produce sound, buy a cheap usb type sound card.

The Asus K8V-VM motherboard has an intergrated audio chip on the motherboard, Realtek ALC660. You need to enable it in the bios. If you do not have you're manual down load it from Asus; http://www.asus.com/Search.aspx?SearchKey=K8V-VM You'll also need Adobe reader installed to view the manual. Enter the bios menu. Open Advanced. See the top of page
2-21 in the manual. Set, High definition Audio to [Auto] Save and exit the bios. Also check out page 1-19. You can install the driver software from the Asus CD or download it from the Asus link provided above.
Realtek Audio Driver V5.10.0.5211 for Windows 2000/XP/XP 64bit. (WHQL)

win 7 is new email motherboard manufacturer or find the chip on the board and search their site or email them with a request for a updated driver win 7 is still nonreleased so alot of stuff doesnt work right till the release micrsoft is not allowing a full working version cause ya know they got to get there 400 dollas out of every last one of us

what connection do you have in connecting internet? check first the drivers of sound card and LAN or a modem

Hi,

Go to the Asus site , select North America, click on Download,

In Select Product, choose Motherboards;

In Select Series , choose Socket754;

In Select Models, choose K8V-MX;

Click on Search;

Expand Audio;

Select your Operating System.

 

Additional, pls verify that your Audio option is set to “Enabled” in your CMOS/BIOS.
