We have a dis-assebly and repair guide posted on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/monitor_repair.htm The problem is usually the driver transistors, our guide shows where they are and what to replace to get your monitor back running again.
Yep if you can you know how to desolder and solder...it is not hard although it is a technique that you can develop
you can swap out the boad too just have to find a parts source and and the machine needs to be taken apart. ccan you do this because if you have a service center do it it is not going to be cost affective . Knowing this you need to consider does she or dosen't she...only her tech knows for sure
is your CPU working properly? if that the case, your monitor is in need of a service.
reasons for why a monitor goes blank? Reason 1: Wetness
The number one reason why computer monitors go blank is - wetness. Believe it or not, when your computer monitor is exposed to humid air, sometimes water can condense and accumulate in the monitor. This causes the monitor to malfunction and go blank. I've had this happen to my desktop PC at least three times before. What you need to do is to leave the monitor alone for some time and allow the water to evaporate. That usually solves the problem.
Reason 2: Faulty Graphics Card
The next reason why your computer monitor goes black is due to a faulty graphics card. The best way to detect this kind of problem is to connect up a new monitor to your PC, then check if you have a blank screen. If you continue to have a blank screen, then it's likely your video card is faulty.
Reason 3: Faulty RAM
This one is less obvious and less common, but it can happen. You might sometimes get bad RAM modules which prevent your PC from booting up even to the basic BIOS startup screen. To detect this kind of problem is more troublesome, you might need to remove those RAM modules and insert them into another computer.
Reason 4: Loose Connections
Another reason why your monitor goes blank is due to loose connections. The connection from the monitor to the mains is usually a culprit, as is the connection between the monitor and the video card. Check those connections before you declare your computer monitor as faulty.
Reason 5: A Short Circuit In The Motherboard
And the final reason why your computer monitor goes blank? It's possibly because of a short circuit in the motherboard. This is the most undesirable outcome of course, as you might have to replace your entire motherboard. However, it's possible that this can happen - so keep your fingers crossed and hope it doesn't happen to you.
try this.
please rate my solution.
have a nice day.
Please disconnect the Monitor Data cable from Computer. If you see Dell Colored bars, it means, monitor is working fine, If still black, please ask for replacement, since Monitors have 3 years of warranty if not purchased with the computer.
Now connect the cable back to computer and turn the computer off by holding the power button on computer and turn it back on...
Blinking Green shows that computer is in sleep mode......
Try unplugging the power cord to your computer tower, click the power button to drain the capacitors in the mother board then plug the power cord back in and try to boot up. Has helped me repair several similar black screen problems. Chuck [email protected]
try to start your pc in safemode with vga mode with thjis faulty monitor

then continuously press F8 key then it will show you boot menu
select safemode with command prompt
then if it show desktop on screen this means your monitor is having problem with resolution try to downgrade your monitor's resolution
rightclik on desktopgo to properties

here you can find screen resolution make it to 800X 600 just for one time
then restart your pc it will auto select proper screen resolution
Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?
If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.
Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.
Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.
Then connect the cables and check if it is working.
Sounds like you have a bad connection from your monitor to your computer. First check and make sure the connection between them is tight. Does your computer boot up and run though? If your computer is not booting up the monitor will default back to the flashing green power light
The flash light test only works with lcd monitor as they have back lights.
Double check the connections again, also, if you can borrow a monitor try it on your pc, it may be your graphics driver needs to be uninstalled and re-installed, but you will need a monitor to see.
so, how do i fix this?
