I need to change the motherboard for a Toshiba Satellite A215-s6816 but I don't find anywhere the repair manual for it. Do you know where I can get it? Thanks!

The Toshiba Satellite A215-S7437 Notebook PC, is one of the Satellite A215 series of Notebook PC's. It is a fancier version of the A200 series.

Processor has two processor cores that can operate up to 1900MegaHertz, or also stated as 1.9GigaHertz.
(1900MHz/1.9GHz)

Does Not mean a total of 3.8GHz.
Total is still 1.9GHz. It's just two processor cores teaming up on the same task.

Chip and Chipset denote I.C.
Integrated Circuit.

The motherboard chipset is an ATI RX-690 (Southbridge chip is ATI SB600 )

If you were to browse toshiba.com and look up your model it will guide you to the upgraded drivers and BIOS firmware.
I feel sure that there will be your answer.

How to get to the CMOS battery

The Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 Notebook PC's CMOS battery, is soldered to a bracket on the bottom of the motherboard.
The laptop has to be completely disassembled to access it.

Go to the 11th line down. The one that starts with Satellite A10
Go across and click on A215

1) Remove ALL power to the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery

2) Observe Anti-Static Precautions
Suggest you bu and wear an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
Average price is around $3 to $6.

3) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.
Mark each compartment for the area the screws come out of.
There may be as many as 60 screws and 12 different types.
Do Not mix them up.

(You can use a clean egg carton in a pinch. Mark each egg holder)

Please confirm if the laptop was running with or without the battery adapter when you were playing the DVD.

Take the battery out from the laptop and start with the battery adapter connected and see if you see any activity.

Laptops don't die like that.

i don't believe you would get that far if it was the motherboard.

Please insert single layer DVD. they will be detected.
The DVD Player in ur pc can not read double/dual layer DVD's.

Open up you're network connections in you're notebook & run the wireless wizard. Search for you're home wireless network.
You should be able to connect to you're home. Remove any other networks you might find. While you're at it I suggest you setup security for you're home network with a password.
