SOURCE: weed eater featherlite primer bulb won't fill with

Hello

From your Description and Depending on the OEM (Zama or Walbro) of the Carburetor it Sounds like a Bad Fuel Filter or the Primer Check Valve has Stuck and the Carburetor Requires Soaking and Cleaning.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://www.poulanpro.com/poulanpro/indexAction.do?id=default and Select Order Parts and Accessories. On this Page Select Illustrated Parts List from the Menu on the Left. Now Select the Manufacturer (Poulan/Weed Eater) and Enter the Model Numbers in the Boxes at the Lower Left of the Page.
I Require the OEM (Walbro, Zama, ect) and the Model Numbers Off the Carburetor. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Carburetor and Better Assist you.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Primer bulb not filling

Yes, I think the gas cap may be clogged. The gas cap must be able to breath, otherwise this vacuum will occur. Try starting your trimmer and when it starts to choke out, loosen the gas cap. It should get air back in the tank, then and keep running. If this works, clear the hole in the gas cap, or purchase a new one.

SOURCE: primer bulb will not fill

This answer assumes you've put gas mix in the fuel tank.
Unless the saw is new (and possibly even if it is) there are only three things which can cause this:
1) The primer bulb is split or has a small hole in it (they rot and split often, but are not much trouble to replace)
2) The line between the bulb mount and the fuel tank is split or has fallen/been pulled off (this frequently occurs as well)
3) The fuel tank filter has trash on it and is preventing the prime. (this is harder to check and/or fix, but not impossible- and all of these are cheap!)

SOURCE: primer bulb will not fill with gas. got trimmer to

this is normally cause by a bad fuel line that comes from ethonal rotting the fuel line that goes to the bulb...a seperate line can still feed the carb but it makes it really hard to start

SOURCE: My Husqvarna 128LD primer bulb

The primer bulb does not have to be full of fuel for the carburetor and trimmer to operate correctly. The actual function of the purge/primer bulb is to help pull fresh fuel into the carburetor while at the same time, push old fuel/air out of the carb and back to the fuel tank. You may have bad check valves in the primer base assembly but, the machine can even operate if the bulb is only even 1/2 full or so...Make sure the fuel is moving in only one direction during and after the bulb is pushed and released. If it's not....bad check valves. These valves are very small and fragile and easily damaged by strong solvents, high PSI compressed air...and carburetor bath type cleaners. You didn't state whether the machine will start, run, what have you. Repost if needed. Please vote on this solution.

My red max weed eater wont stay running. ive cleaned the carb out put a rebuild kit in and the primer bulb wont fill unless i hold it side ways it runs but everytime I give it gas it stalls out and dies i...

The pump diaphram screws and the the screws on primer bulb need to be tight. Any screws missing will result in leaks and it wont get proper fuel. Likely why it wont prurge properly.

There could also be a crankcase leak, but more likely just needs a functional csrburetor.

check your primer bulb for cracks or try tightening down the metal plate that that secures the primer bulb to the carburetor. Double check your gas hoses for breaks

What is Wrong With a Stihl FS90R Trimmer When The Primer Bulb Won't Fully Fill After Priming?

1) check valves inside the primer plate is sticking
2) fuel pump diaphragm is varnished and flaps are sticking to the body of the carb
3) the cost of parts and time spent are more than a new carb
4) new carbs are updated versions and have updated ethanol resistant components
** suggest a new carb, it will solve several performance issues

How to replace the primer bulb

Gain access to carb and right by the bulb you will see about 4 screws holding down a metal plate that holds down the primer bulb. Remove the screws and plate and replace damaged primer in same spot, and screw plate back on.

Replaced bulb and now it leaks elsewhere and wont fill bulb. How do i put it back together properly? Poulan pro pp025

if by bulb your referring to fuel primer bulb, I do believe that poulan uses a two screw clamp system , that has a ring that surrounds the primer bulb , on these it's critical that you get a perfect replacement bulb as size on this is critical for fit, there is a machined groove that edge of new bulb fits down into , make sure it's down in that groove before you very carefully lower clamp ring down over it and even more carefully tighten two screws with a Phillips head driver , if it pops out and you clamp down on that edge it cuts new bulb and you'll s**k air not fuel , once it cuts edge you'll have to start all over again with a new one

Poulan 2150 put new fuel lines on geting gas trew line put the primer buld will not prime and somtimes gets stuck but will release win i pull it of carb

Check the condition of the primer bulb for hardness or cracking. If ok, remove the line that goes from the bulb back into the tank and try to pump fuel from the carburetor. If nothing, switch the position of the other line at the back of the primer and try to draw fuel again. If hooked correctly, the primer will pull fuel through the carburetor body filling all cavities and into the primer bulb. If still nothing, try switching the lines at the carburetor (it should not pump backwards through the check valves in the pumper chamber). If still nothing, switch the primer connection again. Some combination of line connections should allow fuel to be pumped through. When correct, reconnect the loose primer line to allow fuel to return to the tank. This is a good reason for replacing only one line at a time. Hope this helps!

Primer Bulb not working on Weedeater!!!!

Sounds like the rubber bulb has a hole in it or it's leaking -- if you can tighten it, do so, If this doesn't work try replacing it.
