SOURCE: Throttle linkage bushings worn out caused linkage to disconect.

I found from another website that you can purchase this Ford part # which is the same exact bushing.
Ford Part Number: F5RZ-9F955-AB
I installed two of them, and it's working now.

Also, when talking to the Ford parts department, they said that the 2003 Lincoln LS shows the same part # above.

I was told my linkage cable between the steering column and transmission might be the reason my van won't accelerate

linkage cable only changes ratio selections
if it is faulty , it will be stuck in one gear
the reason it is not accelerating is because the accelerator pedal and the throttle control are not communicating with each other
run the fault codes to check which sensor is faulty or if any other sensor is responsible

I have a transmission issue I'll just put a valve body in and my transmission still shift it real hard what could be the cause

Year make and model. Plus the transmission number. Hard shifting could be caused by the TV cable being not hooked up to the throttle body linkage. Older cars, vacuum modulator.

Having problems with my Automatic transmission Kickdown, when i press the accelerator pedal all the way down, the gears will not shift, and the gears will not kick down going uphill, i have to manuall

Most cars with automatic transmissions have a kick down switch that is sometimes mounted on the transmission but activated by the throttle linkage. A good mechanic should be able to correct this quite easily.

Shifting high rpm

Follow cable/linkage from throttle body to transmission for kickdown and make sure it is well lubricated and moving freely at all points, especially at transmission . Patially seized or stuck will cause it to hang up like you are accelerating and trying to pass.

Cable from throttle body to transmission

If this 89 Cabriolet has an automatic transmission the part is called a bowden cable (same as accelerator cable)
Part number is 010 321 307 A for the cable from the throttle on the engine to the lever on the automatic transmission. Another cable is also attached the this same lever on the automatic transmission going to the accelerator pedal.

Check make sure the throttle cable is not binding inside..I would watch the throttle cable and with the vehicle off mash the throttle several times ,make sure its returning back to position..Also move the throttle under the hood and remove the duct work and make sure the butterfly valve inside the throttle body is not loose from the linkage outside

Could some one tell us how the excelerator pump linkage on the float bowl side hooks up to the engine, that's a carburator for a 1968 chevy step van. the carburator is a rochester monjet # 7040021

Looking at an exploded view of your carburator in my Chilton book it would appear to me that the accelerator pump hooks to the throttle linkage on the opposite side from the throttle cable. On that end it shows a small plate that screws into the throttle shaft. This plate has 2 links attached to it, one of which should line up with a hole in the side of the main body. You will probably have to push the pump down by hand to line up the hole in the bottom of the pump arm with the hole in the body and attach the linkage.
There is no specific info in the book regarding this, just the diagram. Hope this helps.

Transmission on a 1983 f100 with a overdrive automatic. it's shifting well now that I adjusted the kickdown linkage but won't shift into overdrive until about 50-55 mph and only if I let off the gas a...

The best way to adjust it is to hook a pressure gage to the TV pressure port located on the left side of the transmission just ahead of the linkage. You want it to be a zero at idle but pressure starts moving as soon as you move the linkage.
