the printer needs a proper servicing and dust cleaning done.as there is a sensor in the printer which detects whether there is paper ,or no paper in the paper tray ,that sensor is moved from its orignal position so this problem is coming.but servicing and cleaning will help.
thanks
SOURCE: photo paper too thick causes jam
You said that the photo paper you used to use was 9 mil, which seems to be well within the product specifications. You don't say the actual size of the photo paper you are using now, just that it is too think. Have a look at the product's specification's page. Scroll down to the Paper Specifications section of the page and see if the paper you are currently using is supported. If not, you'll have to go with thinner paper. Here's the page:

SOURCE: Papr Jam, Samsung CLP310 - paper jams half way through the job
If it jams every page, it is the infamous Samsung design flaw. There are dozens of reports of this problem all over the internet. The best solution: sell it or otherwise get rid of it ASAP and buy another type or model of printer. The 2nd best solution: call trained technician and ask to replace the broken part. It could be thermistor near fuser, some people say it is a photo-interrupter.

You may use your memory stick option to print. I means you shall copy your pictures to a memory stick card. Insert in into the printer. And print directly without your MAC. I use Sony DPP-FP70. It works.
