My TV will play fine for 10-20 min. after that the screen will go blank. Sometimes the screen will light up but no picture. I have no problems with the sound. When I unplug the power cord for a few min. and plug it back in the TV works for a few min. and does the same thing over again. The TV is only about five months old. None of the vents are blocked and nothing has gotten inside of it, and I have always kept it pluged into a surge protector. I have been the only owner of this TV. Please help if you can, and thanks for any advice...

screen looses picture
Most of you that are having problems,it has nothing to do with your screens themselves, but with the capacitors in the power supply, the caps, over heat and the tops pop out and the dry out and are no longer any good,a soldering iron, solder, and flux are really all that is needed to repair this problem, get good caps at radio shack,or equal location, pay attention to polarity on the two contacts on the bottom of the caps, replace all that are poped up
Mines doin the same thing call vizio tech support i bought mines in seeptember an it is doin that too the picture gos blank but the sound stays on forcing me to unplug the plug from the tv an re connect it witch makes me have to reset all settings its really annoying but alot of the newer builds they fixed this problem im guessing we got the older builds.
Im having this same problem with my Polaroid 42"! I think i bought LCDs prematurely. They are not perfected yet!
Lose connect parts or leak capacitor inside the unit mainboard. Go to the nearest service center or call a tv technician!

Re-program your CTV and set the timer OFF, after a while if the problem goes the same. you may refer to qualified technician.. for further check-up of the unit. it will posibble in the primary regulator section/hot section.. or leak spare parts at the supply section.

Yes your inverter is bad, I have the same problem my set is about 1 and 1/4 years old. Because Olevia makes a terrible product there inverters are attached directly on to the panel, which means they will only sell the inverter along with the panel i.e $700+ to replace + $100 dollars labor if u don't know how to fix it ur self. I am currently searching to find the manufacture that makes the inverters because olevia will not disclose that information. I believe it is darfon, if so the inverter should cost about $150-200 depending. If you dont believe you can fix it ur self ur best bet is try and sell the set for scrap take ur $100 or so dollar and buy a quality product! Oh and dont call there support they will tell 10 different things before u find out this long for seen truth!

I'm hooked up to Dish Network and am on the fourth HD/DVR receiver. The HD channels will not stay on. Either the screen goes black/with sound, or it will pixel the picture, or the picture will freeze.
I have had my Hitachi Plasma for less than a year and today the screen just went black while I was watching a DVR-ed program. I exited the DVR but still no picture. Sound is fine. Unplugged tv and replugged, but still no picture, sound only. I am still paying for this thing so I am hoping there is an easy solution.
I have a Samsung 42inch with direct tv hd. I have had the service for a year. Just recently when watching hd channels the scree will go black there will be sound only. I push the reset button and it ok for maybe 10-15 mins. What can I do. Thanks Jimmy.
The TV in my office has been fine for about 1 year since I purchased it. Suddenly now it turns off, like the sleep timer has been set, after about 30 seconds to one minute. I too have always had it in a surge protector and it is clean and free of dust. What is going on? There has been no damage or disruption to the TV. I have checked the cables and power cords but don't understand what has happened.
We bought a flat screen LG 32" TV in January and from the minute we got it, it goes black. You can still hear the sound of the show, but no picture. Total black screen. We have Dish, so if it doesn't come back on it' own (anywhere from 20 second to 3 minutes it has lasted) we just have to hit the brouse button on the remote or change to and from on channels. It's so annoying. The Mom and Pop local outfit we bought it from came out 3 times. First time told us it was because of DISH that that the TV is on the same receiver as another TV. (though we have had dish for 18 months and it was always hooked up from our old Zenith TV with another set and we NEVER had issues.) Then it happened while watching a DVD, which tells me that it's a TV issue, and not a dish issue. On the second visit they took the TV back to the store and basically rebuilt it, saying there are basically only two parts in the TV and the replaced them both. It still happened when it returned, though maybe not as much. So I finally called DISH out to replace the receiver and cables and the TV still does black. So the local Mom & Pop people came out again today, gave us a loaner and plan to display ours in their showroom to see if it does it for them. I suppose if they don't see it go black (while waiting on customers and whatnot throughout the day), they will again blame our DISH and we will be out $1300 we paid for the T.V.
I sort of have the same problam but ine blanks out arter about 4 seconds its a goodmand flat screen please help mEe
