SOURCE: no suction with Eureka Boss Pro Lightweight Bagless Upright, 411A

I checked the vacuum hose to see if there was a clog. 1st, disconnect the hose from the unit so you have access to both ends. Now, place a marble or other ball in one of the hose and see if it will make it all the way through. I found a major "hairball" about 8-10 in down from the vacuum end. I took a metal cloths hanger and bent it in half and did a "roto-rooter operation. It took about 30 minutes, but now it runs like new. I hope this works for you.

SOURCE: The brush does not spin when making contact with carpeting

I tried the electrical-tape-around-the-wooden-spindle technique. After a minute or so, it's back to functioning normally.

The vacuum handle won't recline. Everything else works great, how do I fix it?

It sounds as though either the pushbutton may be broke or out of alignment. The recline works by pushing the latch pawl out of the locked position to allow the handle to recline. I have the user manual link and while it does not have that particular maintenance item the beater bar disassembly should let you see the mechanism to see if it is broken.

Brush will not spin

First thing to check is the belt to make sure it is not slipping and make sure the brush roll isn't restricted.

"Eureka - Pet Expert HEPA Bagless Upright Vacuum - Mystic Purple" is BRAND new and burning! I literally had soot on my hand and up my nose and mouth after using it just now. I've only had it for 24 hours....

Sounds like the beater brush is frozen and the drive belt is burning up.
Check your directions on changing the drive belt for the beater brush. When you remove the beater brush, clean as best you can. At each end of the beater brush you will find a plastic clip. These clips hold the beater brush in the vacuum. Add some WD40 between the brush and the clips. Turn the clips by hand and be sure they turn freely. Reassemble and at the same time, put on a new drive belt.
If this solution is of help to you, please take the time to add a Thumbs Up to my profile for the assistance. Thank you. Paul
