TKHVD214 unlock Region
I recently bought one of these DVD players from Tesco and it worked well with most of my (meagre) DVD collection.
However, it refused to play one particular DVD reporting 'WRONG REGION'.
This was so annoying and frustrating it made me briefly consider relocating to the USA <joke>, however as that was impractical I took it as a challenge to suss this badboy out.
The interwebs were no help on this one so I spent some time reverse engineering the player's firmware.
Here's the skinny:
Switch player on.
Open tray (with no disc).
On remote Press Setup.
Then press 1 3 8 9
A new menu screen will appear with some interesting data, including the currently set Region code.
Set the Region to 0.
Press 'OK' on the remote control.
Turn the player off and then back on again, using the remote control.
Sorted - thank me later!
I bought a One For All remote control but the Tesco DVD player doesn't have a code at the back of the One For All manual. The model number at the back of the DVD player is TDVD21213C1706475 it that's any help
