Where can I buy aftermarket parts for my case 580K backhoe motor 4T390 Cummings

2002 is the year. Dodge is the Maker, Cummings is the supplier of the engine. None of it is the model. Google has some guesses, but basically, you clean that area off, find where the leak is coming from and replace the seal or the gasket. In some cases you can add Seal Reconditioner which makes weeping seals supple again.

Let a rebuilder do the job. That way you'll know the pump has the correct flow adjustments and will make pressure.

Can you tell me which injection pump you have on your 580K. It could use a robert bosch or a C.A.V. Let me know I will help you. One thing you need to know, with a cav pump the engine will not have much torque rise in power. The engine is a powerhouse that runs hydraulic pumps at full throttle. This is a full throttle tractor that should run that way all time .If you are trying to back up hill at say half throttle ,it will not do it, try First gear full throttle. Remember the tractor with bucket and backhoe weight is about 16000# . I do not think adjusting the fuel delivery will help this tractor.

I'd check with my local Case dealer. We have several pieces of Case equipment with hydostatic drives.
If I remember correctly, high gear on a standard transmission is a 1:1 ratio in that the power is on a straight through shaft.
My suspicion would be that a shifter link ay have become dis-connected.

some hydraulic units use a flow rate valve in the bottom of a ram to stop the operation in the event of a hose failure
it effectively locks the oil in the ram to stop what is raised from free falling and becoming dangerous
Talk with the service dealer to see if you have such a valve and how to release it after repairs are carried out

If your engine light on the gauge console is blown it will not start,,don't ask why,,,who knows

Just buy the Trans Case,if you intend to rebuild the wrecked vehicles trans. Check with a trans shop,as to where they get cores,cases and hard parts,then buy direct from the aftermarket parts supply houses.
Also get an ASTG Repair Book for your model trans.

A lot of times a used transfer case will be more trouble than it's worth. If you case isn't broken you can usually get one rebuilt for not too much. I know a shop in MN that is really good, and he'd probably be willing to ship it to you. You can buy a rebuild kit for one for 100.00 dollars. They're not too bad to do, I can do one in under 2 hours. If you really want a used one try the salvage yards. Most of them work with a network of yards and can get them from all over the country.
