The problem began about 3 months ago, 2 months after my 1 year guarentee was up, when I turned the tv on, I heard the power up click, but before the picture came in, the shut off click sound would make then the standby led would blink six long blinks then three short ones. I had downloaded a fix and it worked, for about 2 weeks then a new situation arrived. Now when turning the set on, in will imediatley shut off but now I get 7 blinks. Is there a fix that will last on our very expensive tv?
Phillips purchases the main circuit board from Samsung, and it has a problem with capacitors failing. The failed capacitors can be easily identified as the top will no longer be flat, but will have bulged up.
If you have a local TV repair shop they can help you.
This is a capacitor issue. I just replaced two on my power board and the TV is back to normal. There is a slight issue. Getting the correct capacitors can be tough in the US. You aren't going to find them at Radio Shack, that's for sure.
Not only are the capacitors bulging, they could also have black marks where they have actually EXPLODED!
