Take the card out and check to see if it has a switch, very small, that is in the locked position, this will stop you from formatting or even deleting things from the card

In my situation, the "R/W" card when inserted into the Canon became a "R" card because the write protect tab slid into the card-lock position.

The cause was the write protect tab was very loose and the minimal pressure of the write protect read switch within the camera was enough to slide it about 90%, resulting in a "card locked!" warning.

My solution was to glue the tab in the read-write unlocked position, which is likely a good solution for most people, as I suspect most people never choose to write protect a memory card.

Further, not every SC-card device has the ability to read the write protect request, and therefore will ignore it anyway.

We bought a 4GB SD Card, but the camera fail to format the card. We've tried formatting the card on computer but it still didn't work after inserting back in the Camera.

To correct a Memory Card Lock:
one the side of the memory card is a plastic toggle switch, slide it down and up again to reset the switch and then stick it back into your camera.. see if that fixed the problem.

How much for memory card canonpowershot a75

That depends on the size and speed of the card(s) you choose. The A75 uses CompactFlash Type 1 cards. You don't really need a fast card.

After I copied my files from my camera to mu computer using memory card, after I turned back the card in the camera on the display was shown THIS MEMORY CARD IS LOCKED. I can not use it now.Help..

Not all memory card are created the same so I'm assuming the memory card type you have is an SD or an SDHC if that is the case there is a small locking device on the side which needs to be unlocked. It may have been moved handling or inserting it back into the camera. I'll include a diagram for this.

Another thing is once you have downloaded pictures from the memory card to the computer you need to format the memory card in the camera NOT THE COMPUTER.

Formatting the memory card in the camera clears all the information off and provides the necessary programing for the camera and memory card to transfer data without programing problems.

Format the memory card in the camera not the computer.

When i turn my camera on it says memory card is protected and i wont take any pictures, what should i do?

The memory card is most likely an SD type and the lock swich was activated I'm including a diagram to show you the correct orientation of this switch, it must be in the open or unlocked position to function. When you have the memory card unlocked Please format the card so the camera can function properly with it. Formatting the card will insure correct programming between the card and the camera. Format the card after downloading pictures to the camera. it both cleans and restores programing so the card and camera are compatible once again.

We have inserted sd-ms card onto our laptop to upload the photos onto FB.however the card when inserted back onto the camera, about 50 over images show, incompatible jpeg?how do we solve this issue?

The computer uses a small program to be able to upload pictures from the memory card once the pictures are safely on the computer hard drive hopefully you created a file folder for them then the memory card needs to be formatted in the camera. Formatting the memory card cleans the card and makes it compatible to the camera again. Every time you download images to the computer the memory needs formatting in the camera. Any new memory card needs formatting in the camera a card that has been formatted in the computer needs to be reformatted in the camera. Also please be aware that there is a protection lock on the side of the SD card and if placed in the incorrect orientation will actually lock the card from formatting or deleting files on the card. I'm going to include a diagram here to show you where this little switch need to be for the "unlock" position.

How do u fix the camera that keeps saying locked card and its not the memory card

Not sure why you are saying it's not the memory card or is it because you are working on the camera internal memory? If so the camera internal memory still needs to be formatted or initialized to properly work with the camera. I'm going to include two diagrams on a memory card that your camera will use first is the Card Lock. This is an actual lock on the side of the memory card and if in the incorrect orientation will prevent formatting all new card must be formatted to the camera they are being used in. You can't format the card in the computer and expect it to work in the camera it won't happen. You can't format the card in one camera and place it in another even the same make and model and expect to work.
Here is the first picture/diagram of the card lock

The second diagram is right out of your owners manual showing how to format/initialize your memory card

Format card was taken from page 89 of your manual Have fun with your camera
