SOURCE: I have a Minn Kota Endura 30, transom mount.

There is kind of a collar on the lower side of the head where the head connects to the shaft. There is a single bolt that runs right thru the shaft at this location, remove it. Rotate the head 180 degrees and re-install the bolt. 5 minute job.

SOURCE: the prop will turn on my minn kota endura 44 but

Odds are you have sheared the pin (slides through the prop shaft) holding the prop, or you have damaged the slot on the prop that the pin sits in.

Prop is secured to the shaft with a metal nut, or flat plastic wing nut. Remove the nut to remove the prop. You may have to pry, slightly, the prop from the motor housing. Removed, you will see a whole in the shaft where a pin should be located. If the pin broke, it probably hit the floor when the prop was loosened. If the pin is intact, examine the rear side of the prop and look for damage to the plastic slot where the pin would sit making contact.

If you've snapped the pin, you can make a replacement with a nail using a hacksaw. Replacement pins can also be ordered from Minn Kota. If the back side of the prop is damaged (recess for the pin to sit), the prop is toast. Replacement props are often carried by Walmart, and include a new pin.

If neither part is broken, perhaps the prop was just not seated on the pin correctly allowing the prop to freewheel.

SOURCE: how do i extend my battery cable on my minn kota

You can purchase a battery extender cable. Depending on how far you need to go, you can buy them in various lengths. I've done the same and bought a 15' extension (always buy a few more feet than you think you need). Many places carry this. I bought mine at BassProShops for $25.00 and it comes with fuses which help to make sure you never fry your motor or battery!

My minn kota endura 55 is three years old is making a grinding noise when in operation..

I had this problem with my MinnKota Endura 35. The gear teeth that turn the prop are off center and need to be realigned. You need to take it to a service depot as trying to open the casing yourself may do more damage. Plus when it it put back together you need to ensure that it is water tight again.

Cost me around $85 at the local marine mechanic...

What is the amp draw of the motor, so i can buy the right battery for a minn kota endura 30 trolling motor?

You will need a 100 to130 amp hour deep cycle marine battery. Check prices of many brands in your area. (WalMart, Autozone, boat dealers, ect.)

probably an endura 50 would be a better fit for a potoon boat. assuming the boat is normal size. if its a smaller one then this motor might work just fine. give it a try and see if it moves you about fast enough for your taste.

How do I remove the composite shaft from the motor housing

I just replaced the shaft (composite) on my Endura 34 today. First, remove the crossbolt that attaches the control head to the top of the shaft. Second, remove the top cover of the control head. Third, make note of the wire connections within the control head (take a picture) and then unplug the red, yellow, white and black wires...no need to unplug the main 6 guage red and black power wires. Fourth, with the wires unplugged, pull the shaft with motor housing attached through the transom mount assembly. Fifth, immobilize the motor housing (gently vice?) and heat the socket in which the shaft screws into motor housing. Do not overheat, only use enough heat to soften factory sealant making unscrewing shaft possible. Sixth, reassemble in reverse order.

Notes: Do not use a pipe wrench as this will crush the composite shaft, either old or new. Apply thread sealant prior to installing new shaft (I used Permatex Thread Sealant/Formagasket). Ensure crossbolt hole on top of shaft aligns with motor housing below.
