Firstly, is the Thomson 6717 the same as the RCA Pearl TH1602 ie are they made by the one company under different names for marketing in different countries. If so, go to the following site for a choice of three firmware downloads. Please advise if this works on your Thomson 6717. Ajan.
I have had the same problems with this the only solution i have come up with is not to load any music files with the extension m4a on it you will end up getting the error message on it. stick to only putting music files with mp3 extention on the files and you should not have a problem.
The unit has a hold button which when you accidentally slide to one side, will "hold" or lock up the unit, to unlock this, simply slide the hold button to the opposite side.
