When I turn my Thomson 6717 on it locks up with the word Thomson displayed on the screen. How do I fix this?

maybe thats the problem your USB port is broken.. that's why it cannot be detected..

Check and see if its looping and that every song is in the same folder.

Firstly, is the Thomson 6717 the same as the RCA Pearl TH1602 ie are they made by the one company under different names for marketing in different countries. If so, go to the following site for a choice of three firmware downloads. Please advise if this works on your Thomson 6717.

I have had the same problems with this the only solution i have come up with is not to load any music files with the extension m4a on it you will end up getting the error message on it. stick to only putting music files with mp3 extention on the files and you should not have a problem.

There is a slide switch on the top of it that locks the controls. If this is in the locked position then the devices shutsdown again!

Also, the 6675 does the same thing if the battery is flat .... appears to start and straight off again!

On the remote, hold down the dispaly button for a second or two, it will go back to the screen.

The unit has a hold button which when you accidentally slide to one side, will "hold" or lock up the unit, to unlock this, simply slide the hold button to the opposite side.
