The picture on my Mitsubishi WS-73411 TV goes off after an hour or so. I checked the error code on the flashing LED's and I get a 23. Any solutions?

Is this something I can fix myself? [pretty mechanically inclined]. This just happened last night. I can let the TV sit for an hour or two to cool down and then I can turn it on and get a picture for about an hour or so until it heats up and shuts off again.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size

Testimonial: "Thank you for your response The Knight. However, this TV is an older rear-projection TV. I discovered this web article that addresses this problem and it sounds like the problem could be this: http://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair/7f15s-mitsubishi-ws-73411-doing.html "The suggestion I have for 23 error is to re-solder the plug connectors on the CRT yokes. Sometimes the solder joints of the pins on that small board get cracked and cause 23 error. On each CRT there is a 4-6 pin wiring harness with large gauge wire that plugs into a small circuit board mounted on the yoke. The boards may be under some plastic covers. You may not be able to see the cracks in the solder so I suggest you just re-solder every pin on all three CRT's. It's best NOT to remove the yokes and NOT to remove the CRTs because you will be in for hours of alignment. Do everything you can to re-solder the pins without moving the yokes. I have done it, you basically have to lay on your back and do it upside down. But it's better than hours of alignment." Your thoughts? Thank you for your time."

What does a blinking orange light on 65" Mitsubishi dlp rear projection TV mean?

Self Diagnostics

The V18 Chassis features Self Diagnostics to aid in troubleshooting problems that may cause the set to

automatically turn off or "shut down." The "Timer/Power ON LED" provides an indication of the sets operation,

and the possible cause of a malfunction.

1. Initial Control Circuitry Check

Immediately after the TV is connected to an AC power source:

• The LED flashes three times ... indicating the Microprocessor has initialized and is functioning

properly.

• If the LED does not flash ... the Microprocessor is NOT functioning.

2. Error Code Operational Check

To activate the Error Code Mode, while the set is OFF, press the front panel "INPUT" and "MENU" buttons

at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The LED will flash denoting a two digit Error Code.

Note: The Front Panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: For Error Code is "24", the LED will flash 2 times, pause, and then flash 4 times.

3. Error Codes

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:

"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.

"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.

"22" ... Short Protect circuit.

"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.

"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.

I have a mitsubishi TV model WS-73411 , a month ago it shut off while I was watching it. Since then it has been shuting off more and more as time goes by. It shuts off an average of 4-5 times at nite...

The next time it shuts down (I presume the green power light goes off) do the self check this model has, on front of set press and hold both the menu and input buttons for at least five seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a 2 digit error code like : 1 blink, 2 blink and repeat it several times.

1,2 is no error detected but there are other codes.

BLINKING GREEN LIGHT AND WILL NOT POWER UP

You can check the Error code by doing the following.

On the Front panel hold down the Device and Menu Button for 5 seconds. The LED light will then start flashing the first set of flashing lights is for the "1"5 part of the code it will then pause for about a half second and start the ones place 1"5". The code will repeat 5 times before going off.

The Error Codes: 12 - Normal Operation; 21 - X-Ray Protect; 22 - Short Protect; 23 - Loss of Horizontal Deflection; 24 - Loss of Vertical Deflection.

The problem may also be in the power supply when you first plug the device in check how many times the Led blinks if it blinks for just over a minute the power supply is working fine. If the Led blinks repeatedly and does not stop the DM is not running.

Most common problem in WS-55819 is failure of convergence output chips and blown pico fuses in power supply section.
You need to read out error code in tv, procedure is as follows:
Pressing the front panel "INPUT" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,
activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occurred since the last Initialization.
Note: The front panel buttons must used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
Example: If the Error Code is "24", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash four
times.

Hi, I have a WS-55908 Mitsubishi tv, I turn it on

Do the self check this set has--when you turn on and power light comes on and then goes off:

On the front of the set press both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time and hold them for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light will then blink a two digit error code--the most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks---it will repeat it several times.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means---based on your description I bet you get 2,2 error code.

If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Mitsubishi VS-50705, 50 inch Rear projection TV won't turn on!

most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit
