I see these posts are quite old but will respond anyhow.

The transducer that is making all the racket is probably a piezoeletric 'speaker' that uses a crystal to which voltage is applied.
These range in size from 1/2" to several inches in diameter but are almost always round (I've seen many and they were).
Look for a cylindrical part in that range of diameter with one (flat) side open.
It will have two wires attached and either one is OK to cut but you might want to use small, heatproof (ceramic) wire nuts to screw on the the clipped wires to avoid causing something else to fail because of the bare wire end.

Is there a way to fix the the turn signal chime and other various chimes on a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS, there is no sound from them as well as front speakers?

The audible warnings alert the driver of a system concern or a critical vehicle condition. The radio generates the audible warnings through the speaker. The radio receives audible warning requests via the serial data circuit. If the radio receives multiple audible warning requests, the warning with the highest priority sounds first. The following lists the audible warning priority and the pulse rate:
?€¢
Fast rate chime (200 pulses per minute)

?€¢
Medium rate chime (150 pulses per minute)

?€¢
Slow rate chime (50 pulses per minute)

Led display shut down when the detector detect an alert

You have the unit in dark mode. Press the Dim/Dark button again to get the unit to full brightness. THe unit has 3 levels of DIM. First the unit is at its full brightness, pressing the dim/dark button will dim the display and the unit functions normally. Press the Dim/Dark button again will futher darken the display but when the unit alarms the display is turned off and remain off during the alert. After the alert is over the unit waits 20 seconds of no alert to turn the display back on.

Mobile phone - message tone alert?

I do not have the phone or the manual...however here are my recommendations from the phones i have owned.

In the phone settings there should be a sound tab. This allows you to select rigntones and alert tones and alarms. Also there are different profiles that you can select ie: Normal- will play ringtones and all audible alerts and alarms...Silent: Will vibrate only and not play any sound ( even though you have selected a certain sound to play)....hope this helps

Message alert volume

It seems to be a problem on all these Sony Ericsson phones.

You can make it louder by going to setting/profiles and select an outdoor profile.
Also choose a sound that is very audible, you'll have to download one. I recommend: Zedge, http://www.zedge.net/
and a bonus, http://www.ownskin.com/
