SOURCE: Goodman split not responding to remote

First turn the main power off to the unit at the breaker, wait about five min. and switch the breaker back on, then see if this solves the problem. In the instalation manual that came with the unit on the last page you will see a code of the red blinking light, this will tell you the most likely problem if not solved by switching the breaker on again.............Hope this helps

FROM THE AIRWELL RC-4 REMOTE CONTROL MANUAL

NOTE THE COMMENT ABOUT THE RESET AND THE SIMULTANEOUS SELECTION OF THE + - SET and CLEAR BUTTONS to effect a reset after replacingg batteries

HOW TO INSTALL BATTERIES Remove the lid in the rear part of the remote control unit.
Insert two AAA alkaline batteries of 1,5 V-DC. Make sure the batteries point in the direction marked in the battery compartment.
The batteries last about six months. Depending on how much you use the remote control unit. Remove the batteries if you do not use the remote control unit for more than one month. Press the +, -, SET and CLEAR buttons together after batteries replacement.
(This operation allows you to reset correctly all the programs. The remote control unit is to be set up again).Replace the batteries when the remote control unit lamp fails to light, or when the air conditioner does not receive the remote control unit signals.
The batteries of the remote control contain polluted substances exhausted batteries must be disposed according to the laws in force.

Had a great working fan for years. A week ago the remote wouldn't tutrn the fan so I installed new batteries. Still no luck. Manually, it worked. Then I used the remote to change speeds while it was...

If the manually switch works it seams there is nothing wrong with the ac unit itself ...and it may be a poor contact on the remote (for the button that starts the fan ) ..If you think you can manage open the remote ..and clean with alcohol the contacts..both sides..on the main board..and the inside the rubber button contact ..and put it back ..and see if the function is working ...If it is not ..you will need a replacement in order to work ...My advice ..just to see if it is a remote issue ...try to find a somilar one ...(or a universal ) and see if it works before going and buy one ...cause even if it seam to work manually ..this is not excludes a strange malfunction in the infrared board of the ac .

The Wii turns on but the remote won't connect to the screen...all lights working also, bought a new sensor bar and still nothing...???

Turn on the Wii console, when at the home screen press any button on the wii remote, if the lights on the wii remote remain dark then it needs new batteries.

If the lights all light up at the same time then stop this means you are not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time to sync, this will work if they have been synced before.

If your four lights still blink blue then you need to open the little compartment on the console that is right below the disc tray. Inside is a little red button, press the button. Now open your battery compartment on the wii remote and take out the battery, then press the red button inside. Put the battery back in and the controller should sync up. If you are still having trouble you will need to contact Nintenedo Technical Support.

Hope this helped!

Air conitioner started to automatically climb in temperature, we shut the unit off, put new batteries in the remote. the uit will not turn on at all. Prior to this the unit worked perfectly. Can you...

Since it was running (although not cooling) when you turned it off (and put batteries in the remote) it would be strange to have no power at the outlet - but I would check and make sure.

The easy way to check your outlet is - toplug something else in there - like a hair dryer or a lamp - 'assuming' your unit plugs into a regular household outlet, and is indeed a 110 volt appliance.

Step 1 - plug another appliance (hair dryer or lamp) into the outlet

If - after plugging something else into the outlet, i.e. a hairdryer and it works ok - you will - then know that there is nothing wrong with your power supply (110volt outlet). So you can move on to Step 2

Note: if the other appliance does not work - then you need to check the Circuit Breaker to see if it's tripped off. Many times circuit breakers will trip for no particular reason and just needs to be reset (turning breaker off and back on). If you find the breaker is tripped - and you reset it - and the unit - runs and cools ok - I would just keep an eye on it for a few days - watching to see if it does again. A breaker that "keeps" tripping for no apparant reason is an indicator of something electrically wrong within the unit and probably needs a Service Tech to troubleshoot it.

Step 2 - Since the power supply is ok - see if you can start the AC manually - without using the remote. If the unit will not start "manually" - I would look for a "reset button/switch" (*not all units have one) and reset it. Note: if after resetting the unit - it still does not run then proceed to next step (step 3). Or if you can't find a reset button I would look in my manual and see if it can help you find it - if, however you do not have a 'reset button/or can't locate one' then go to next step (step 3).

If - however, after resetting - "the unit comes on and -runs and cools- ok" - I would then 'turn it off,' and let it set for 5 minutes and then try operating it with the remote. If it works with the remote I would then assume you just had an 'electrical glitch' and everything should be ok. If it "doesn't work" with remote I would suspect a defective remote and replace it.

Step 3 - since you have power (at the outlet) and either have 'reset' the unit or can't locate a reset button, or there is no reset on the unit - you are now in need of a Service Tech to electrically trouble-shoot the unit to find the problem. Note: I'm assuming at this point 'Nothing' is running, - not the fan motor - or the compressor, in which case you might look for a "fuse" in the unit - again not all units have one, indeed most do not, but it's something you could check, and easily replace if it's bad.

If, after completing all the checks above and the unit still fails to come on (either manually or with remote) - then you are, as I said above, in need of a Service Tech.

hope this has helped
