I am trying to use a Gigaware USB-A male to Mini connector to download pics from my cell phone. No luck. It came with no instructions or drivers. What do I need to do?
What model of phone and what kind of cable? I have seen this same problem, and I need to clarify there is more than one type of USB cable. One type has 4 pins and the other has five. The only real difference is that there are redundant grounds on the five pin. I would look at my local cell phone store and see if the phone is capable of taking these downloads. Does the computer recognize the cell phone? Do you have a printer connected in the same USB port? If so,try a different port. What version of Windows are you using? There is a built in application in Windows XP called scanner and Camera Wizard. To get to it, go to: START, All Programs, Accessories, Scanner and Camera Wizard. I have a Kodak Camera and it launches automatically when the computer detects the camera, but if it doesn't you can do a manual scan for it.What model of phone and what kind of cable? I believe this adapter just has a USB Type-B mini male connector on it. Are you just looking for a Type-A Male to Type-B mini Female extension cable? Or do you need a Type-B mini Male to Type-B mini Female Extension cable?
Both are available on Amazon and various other online sellers.
A male to male mini hdmi cable should suffice . Connect smaller end to phone and larger end to tv . Download an app from play store there are a lot search for connect to tv screen . Or Even a usb cable should work .
If your phone charger cord has a usb connector on one end, then use it to transfer your pictures. If not, then get a cable that has the correct end for your phone ans a usb connector on the other end
Mini USB:

What you need is a driver for your phone, not the cable itself...
Your phone must have come with a cd, install the software in it, this should install the drivers for the phone. Restart your computer, and reconnect the cable to your phone... It should connect know.
You don't need software for cables. You need drivers and software for devices, DVD/CD drives, ipods, mouse, external burners and hard drives etc. The cables are irrelevant and the computer doesn't recognize cables. I hope this helps and good luck.
your camera should have come with a cable that plugs into a usb port on the computer andplugs into something like one of these on the camera
5-pin male mini connector, replaces B connector
5-pin mini female connector, used on most new Cameras, GPS Units, Cell Phones, Mini Hubs, Mini Hard Drives, Harmony Remotes, etc
4-pin mini male connector, replaces B connector
4-pin mini female connector, used on many older cameras; Olympus, Sony, Minolta, Kodak and Epson
And you can find it almost anywhere as this type of cable is very often used to link many USB devices as cameras, mp3 players and cell phones. So if you have one from other camera or USB device just shift.
If you are trying to move video that is stored on TAPE, you need to get a Firewire cable. Using the USB cable, you can only transfer photos and video that is stored on the Memory Stick Pro memory card (user-supplied). The Firewire cable has a standard IEEE-1394 male connector on the computer end and a mini IEEE-1394 male connector on the camera end. If you don't have a Firewire interface on your computer, you will need to get one.
Good luck.
