Just bought a new Frigidaire last month. When the motor is running it blows out a urine like smell. I checked the drip pan and it's dry, also no "critters" under there. It has an ice maker that works fine, no leaks etc. We had an appliance company install it.
I had a similar problem, but the smell was more like foul milk. I had spilled a quart of milk inside the refrigerator a month or two earlier, and sure enough, it had gotten into one of the interior condensing drip pans, which dripped down through a pipe to an exterior drip pan. The whole thing was funky, but got cleared up when I flushed it with a bleach/water solution.
