I have a HP dv6605us Ent Notebook PC, and the cd/dvd drive is missing from the device manager. It will not respond when a dvd is entered and will not burn any new cds. Im not sure how this happened. Can you help me figure out how to reinstall the driver?
Go to HP's support website, find your laptop, and get the missing driver, or find out what brand your cd/dvd drive is and go to the manufacturers website to get the driver. I hope this helps!
Restart the computer. Sometimes the computer will recognize your cd/dvd drive as a new hardware and search for drivers. Also, you can go to control panel and click on install new hardware. You can also try device manager> DVD/CD-ROM drives > Select your drive> Driver and the try to update or uninstall then reinstall. I hope this helps.
