The other item to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. Also check for hard water and debris build up in the screens located on the inlet valve To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Also another trick to check the water valve, is to first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed

By the way my advice is free cuz God is good!

SOURCE: My washing machine doesnt stop filling the tub when the right water level is reached

Not familiar with this model. When a washing machine fills with water up to a predetermined level, it usually operates a pressure switch which will turn off the water valve, and redirect the power to the programmer, or heater, or some other stage of the programme. If there is a blockage of powder or gunge in the tube leading to the pressure switch this would prevent air from rising up the tube to operate the switch. Tom.

SOURCE: Maytag Washing Machine - water will not shut off and overflows tub

this could be either a bad pressure switch, located behind the control panel. it has a small usually black hose running down to the tub. more than likely since this is an older machine the hose has become worn in one spot and is leaking air. replace the hose and that shold do it. if not its the presasure switch.

SOURCE: kenmore elite HE4T front load washing machine standing water

This problem can be caused by either a leaking water inlet valve, or a condition known as "siphoning". Since you just recently moved, I would make sure you don't have a siphoning problem, first. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

Although siphoning normally refers to a constant drain problem where a washer has problems maintaining the proper water level, it can also lead to problems where the drain line will back up into the washer.

Now, if you follow the advice in the link and determine this is NOT caused by siphoning, I would suspect that you have a water inlet valve that is leaking. A tell-tale sign will be water trickling down the fill tube in the rubber door bellow. The water inlet valves have a diaphragm that is controlled by an electric solenoid. Sometimes the valve becomes clogged with sediment or deposits, causing the diaphragm not to close properly. If you live in an area that has hard water, or use well water, you may have hard water deposits or rust build up in the valve. You may be able to correct the problem by removing the valve and cleaning it with some distilled vinegar. You can remove the valve by following these steps:

1. Unplug the washer and turn off water supply at the taps.
2. Disconnect the water inlet hoses.
3. Remove washer top panel by removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel slides back, then off.
4. The inlet valve (this is what your water inlet hoses connect to) will be located in the left rear of the washer (facing from the front). Remove the dispenser hose(s) from the valve and the electric connections. Remember how the electrical connections are removed. They should be color coded. One is for HOT, one is for COLD.
5. Remove the mounting screws that hold the assembly in place.

Once you have the inlet valve removed, you can place it in some distilled vinegar and let it soak. Just don't submerge the electrical connections. If this does not correct your problem, replace the valve. Searspartsdirect.com and repairclinic.com are two notable web sites that I have frequently used. Just type in your complete model number to begin the parts search.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

SOURCE: Front Loading LG Washing Machine leaves smelly sludge in wash tub

This machine has a tub clean feature that you're supposed to run with bleach. I did this and it helped the smell s bit. Recently we had an error code and the repair man that came to fix it gave me some good tips. His experience has been that the smell is from too much soap causing build up in the seal and along the tub. His suggestion was to cut back on the amount of he detergent (he said a tablespoon is sufficient). His company recommends using a product called Whirlout (you can buy it at Home Depot). It was originally meant to clean scum out of hot tub jets. Apparently if you call LG they will recommend this product, but haven't bothered to suggest it in the owner's manual. I was told to put one to two capfuls directly into the tub (not the detergent bay) and run the tub clean cycle. I used it last night and it worked - no more musty, yucky smell!

Why does My Samsung VRT front loader leave the soap dispenser full of water at the end of the wash cycle. I have to empty it in order to add detergent for the next wash cycle.

there are 2 components to the soap dispenser, 1 using liquid soap has a little tub that you dispense soap into and 2nd you remove the tub when using powder soap. I assume that you are talking about the little tub is filled with water. How this works is by adding water to the tub the level rises and siphoning empties the little tub. If any water remains it is due to water being added after the little tub has already emptied. That is not a big issue and will happen. Just empty the water or add some water to start the syphon process.

Hello, On Neptune washer serial # 34098916EF, Washer tub fills with about 2 inches of water within hours after doing a wash. When I spin the tub by hand, I hear water sloshing inside. Machine drains fine....

You have a bad water fill valve. Until you get it fixed shut water valves off at the wall so that you don't have a flood if the fill valve on the machine fails completely. Let me know if there is anything else I can Help you with.

When the machine starts to fill the tub with water only a very small amount of water starts to fill the tub

Water valve needs to be replaced - the rubber diaphragms in them tend to harden with age.

Drips from center of front cover when filling at 3-4 inches

after carefully reading this, the leak is at the machines water valves, or from them to hose to tub.

1. Turn off the water source to the washing machine.
2. Unscrew the hose from the back of the washing machine.
3. With a pair of pliers, gently pull out the mesh filter from the end of the hose and rinse it under water until clean. Also clean the inside and outside of the threaded connector.

Water fills machine but won't shutoff

ekrok, you are going to have to change the fill valve. If water is still filling when the unit is unplugged, that means the valve is stuck open. This is not a hard fix. You will have to remove the screws on the top in back. Should be three. If this is a GE you will have to remove the front header. Three screws in back of the front header. Now the top will slide off toward the back The valve is easy to get at. Get your part at a local appiance parts store or order it from repairclinic.com. Change it out and this will be a done deal, Catriver
