I can smell smoke in the room when our pellet stove is burning , we have taped all joints mon the stove pipes , is there another place it could be coming from

Check to see the flue is open to vent the smoke. Also, these stoves need air to burn correctly, so there needs to be enough fresh air to the room. A smoltering fire will always smell like smoke, a well burning fire will not.

I can smell smoke coming from somewhere on the stove or pipes , we have taped every joint we can find, is there somewhere in the stove it could be coming from

Not uncommon. Make sure the exhaust pipe goes up fairly high from the house. The stove needs fresh air and if there is no wind outside, it can draw in outside smoke. Make sure there is some fresh air to the room or area. Normally, home leakage is enough for fresh air but some homes are so sealed up, it isn't enough.

My king pellet stove keeps backpuffing smoke into the room and also spurting fire out the fresh air intake whole at the back of the stove on windy days.

I would check flue is clean and not blocked also check the flue terminal on the flue pipe is in good condition .

When I light my pellet stove and push the start button the exhaust fan comes on but the smoke in the stove don't blow out the exhaust. What could be the problem?

Are you sure it is the exhaust fan and not the convection fan or the fresh air fan you hear? If it is the exhaust fan, check for blockage in the exhaust pipe.

Pellet stove smokes after blower stops

This should not be happening, have somebody check the draft for you, smoke should be drawn out chimney, unless draft is no good.

We have a pellet stove -seems to be working ok except that we have a smell of smoke like that of having a fireplace. We think everything is sealed correctly. Any suggestions?

From what I have read on these things, never had one, but they have 2 fans, maybe one, plus an auger and thermostat. The one fan would **** fresh air in from the room to fuel the fire, while the other fan would blow the heat back out from a sealed area. The auger spins constantly, slow, dropping pellets on the fire determined by the thermostat. If this is right and relates to your stove, I can see where the smell of smoke would come from. The second fan is pulling in smoke from the fire. Check the gaskets in that area. I was wondering if it wasn't just the new stove smell you were getting?

My napolean woodstove has smoke coming from the ash box when I start a fire.It seems to come out of the fresh air damper slider. After the fire is well started it goes away. What could be causing this....

That is usually caused by lack of draft. You may have a partial blockage in your vent pipe or somewhere going to it. Once the heat builds up the draft increases and the smoke is exhausted. Good luck...Lee

I just got a Whitfield Quest pellet stove from a friend. Do I need a fresh air pipe if I use it in my house/ basement? Also where can I get a repair/owners manual. Thanks Kurt Willem

Some people plump in fresh air but you can also punch out the fresh air in take out on the back of the stove and recirculate the air within your home.I would think twice about installing it in your basement . Basements have a tenancy to create a negative pressure, which means that it can become very difficult to create and up draft through the chimney , which causes the smoke to seep out of the stove into your home. The only way I have found to over come this is to run a torch in the stove for 5 mins before starting a fire, this creates an up draft which eliminates the problem.

What do you need to do to put a woopellet stove pipe thru wall

I'm confused by your question. If you are asking what is involved in installing a pellet stove well it varies greatly from model to model. Generally speaking, most pellet stoves will horizontally terminate behind the stove itself as opposed to running thru the roof like a woodstove does. Pellet stoves require the use of electricity for numerous functions, one of which is power venting thru this rear terminated pipe. As far as clearances to combustables, you will find that pellet stoves are very forgiving in that department, with minimal clearances required. Once again all stoves are different and they all are rated indepentently so my best advice to you is find a quality pellet stove dealer and go in and see them. They will be more than happy to answer your questions. Avoid the big box stores as they have pellet stoves at a good price but offer NO service or installation and believe me, I am in the business, you will need professional service at some point during the life of your stove so don't save a couple bucks by going cheap. You will be happier for it down the road. Good luck.
