I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.

Go buy a magnetic retriever from your local hardware shop they are very cheap.
Make sure you get a slim version
Either that or turn the printer upside down and get someone to whack it on the bottom with the palm of their hand as you hold it

Does it make the sounds as if it is trying to grab a sheet of paper and just will not? Try unplugging the printer from the power source for at least 2 minutes, then replugging it in. Try just a single sheet of paper in the paper tray. See if it will at least grab that.
