Depending on the unit sometimes you can actually see them with the door off. This isn't a good idea to do because you can trip a limit switch due to not enough air being forced a crossed them. But if it's possible be sure to keep door closed as much as possible. The true way is to take an amp reading on the high voltage wire. Approximately 20 amps per 5kw of heating. 3 heat strips =60 amps. Good Luck.

The furnance ignites for about ten seconds the right befor the blower comes on the furnance goes out. This repeats itself over and over until the unit shuts itself down.

Take out the flame sensor and clean it with a piece of sand paper or emery cloth and put it back in and this should get sustained flame.2e77348.jpg

Furnance will not come on

No Blink? no call for heat. Check thermostat. Jump out thermostat. Check the fuse in the cabinet as well as in the breaker box. Do you have an emergency switch that may have been turned off? Make sure the door interlock switch is closed and working.

any furnace with a blower will go on your electric bill but it really should'nt draw enough power to raise your bill noticably unless it's running constantly.

Blwoing cold air

Possibly, A thermal fuse located in the heater element circut could burn out. the CIrcut would show full voltage to the element but no heat out. Often there is also an auto reset high limit swich this could be out also opr instead of the fuse. THE FUSE IS ALWAYS LOCATED WHERE IT CAN "SEE" the elements. I E Inside the case where the elements are.
