When you say nothing happened.
If the machine doesn't run at all, check the cord and plug.
If the machine doesn't pick up paint, read the following:
There are 2 steel balls inside the sprayer.
The first one is in the pipe at the first joint > this ball keeps prime in the pump head.
The second ball is 5" higher, and it is opened and closed by the prime valve
These balls can rust and then the sprayer needs to be replaced
Always store sprayer filled with kerosene
The prime valve goes bad too
And the intake can be clogged with wasp nest or paint.
Let's say your prime valve is okay, and the pipe is not clogged.
Tap the pipe where the ball is located while the machine is running.
See if you can loosen the ball.
If you can't loosen it, take the pipe apart, but be careful because the ball has to fit perfectly to hold the high pressure of a paint sprayer.
If you can get the machine to prime, then tap the next ball to see if machine will fill the hose.
