SOURCE: Adding a 8GB MICRO SD card to the Sansa e260
I read somewhere that a 4 GB Micro SD card is the largest you can put in the SanDisk Sansa E260 expansion slot. It's maximum capacity is 8 GB, with internal + external memory put together. This is from what I've read. Hope this helps.

Your device is probably not compatible with the more recent SDHC (High Capacity) memory card format. Newer equipment can handle both SDHC and SD. Check with the manual or website for your card reader and the laptop, to check if they can recognize it. None of our older cameras can use SDHC, but it works fine in my daughter's new Pentax.

few computers nowadays read SDHC out of the box. you will need to purchase a SDHC reader that plugs into your USB port.
