As this is the A-S ceramic cartridge that installs with three screws, then I suggest you either buy the original part, or just get a new faucet. The three screw type is notoriously difficult to seal properly because of the design. If you do replace it, I recommend Moen single handle. It's basic cartridge has a lifetime warranty against dripping, and is super simple to change out. Good luck!

SOURCE: Does danco offer a replacement cartridge for american standard

Danco is an aftermarket supplier of plumbing repair parts for almost all major brands. Look for a danco part that looks like the part you need then check the "compatible with" list on the package.

there is never a fiction ring at the washer end, sometimes there is a cup shaped part that holds the washer but nothing else so it must be intended to go around the stem

Replaced danco cartridge 88198 three times. only

Danco is an after market faucet parts company that recreates parts cheap for hardware supply chains and such. You would be ahead to try and find the brand of faucet you are trying to repair and get OEM parts. They will probably cost a little more, but will hold up a lot better. I hope this helps.

How to fix a dripping faucet?American Standard single lever handle.

Hello. These faucets use a replaceable cartridge valve and when they drip they're ready for replacement. Remove the handle by loosening a small screw ,usually with an allen wrench, and maybe another nut under it.The cartridge should pull out but mat be stubborn. Take the valve with you when you go shopping there are many variations.

I bought a replacement Danko faucet cartridge for an american standard bathroom sink and the package said hot/cold but when I installed it on the cold side the handle turns the wrong way. How do I reverse...

Thae stem you got that said hot/cold were designed to fit old style cross handle faucets. So both hot and cold turned the same way. If the cold side you are replacing turns the opposite direction then you will need to get a cold stem. Danco does make them. Ask the retailer where you purchased the H/C stem. I hope this helps..

NEW American Standard shower installed... leaks from shower head.

They do not all leak. The problem may be that your faucet is simply wearing out and is due to be replaced in total. Try putting some plumbers grease on the cartridge and the chamber.....not too much..........that may do the trick for u.
