Ice builds up on top of evaporator and fan blade hits.I checked evaporator and there was no ice build up below this area. I thought it might be a defrost problem but coil is totally iced. I thawed it out...

This sounds like no defrost is happening. Frost is supposed to accumulate and then be heated and water runs off, routinely.

Check defrost timer and heating coil.

Where is the water filter for Liebherr CI1650 located?

There isn't a water filter. You should install an inline filter to the water line that comes in to feed the ice maker.

How do I get the plastic back panel off without breaking it to defrost the evaporator? Bosch No Frost fridge freezer icing up in top third of fridge

You unplug the refrigerator & let it melt &
work on cleaning up the water

If your getting too much ice build up, it could
be that you have a leak & lost refrigerant or
other system that heats things to prevent that
have failed

Have you turned down the thermostat to see if
that helps?

Refrigerator wont stop running

If the machine is running all the time a few things could be happening, The defrost timer could be bad, but if that is the case then you should see a build up of ice forming on the wall that covers the evaporator coils. Another situation is that your machine is low on freon and not reaching a temperature cold enough for the temperature control to shut the machine off. Third and last the temperature control itself could be bad and thinks the machine isn't cold enough. in that situation you would notice ice build up as well. Hopefully this helps.

I had water in bottom of kenmore fridge. This is now fixed but soon after I had frost building up on back wall of freezer.

you now have a defrost issue, remove rear panel inside freezer if the evaporator is covered with a heavy ice and frost build-up then either the defrost heater under the evaporator coil is open or the defrost thermostat on top of the coil is bad you need to check both for continuity or the defrost timer if equipped or the A.D.C. adaptive defrost control is bad and not supplying power to the defrost circuit

Problems for Refrig. Kenmore Elite

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

Alarm won't stop beeping

Door left open or temp is too warm. most I found is heavy ice build up on freezer evaporator, very easy to tell, pull out one of the drawer and look on the back wall, it should not have any ice on it (a little frost is OK). It may be bad Evaporator sensor, Evaporator fan motor is not running, door evaporator fan reed switch installed upside down, bad connection on defrost heater connector, bad defrost heater element, open heater HI limit switch, open gap on door gasket and compressor never stop running. If no ice build up and compressor is running but temp is rising then it may be sealed system problem. Good Luck.

ok you have a defrost problem.there are three parts to the defrost system the defrost heater which is wrapped around the evaporator cover the defrost thermostat which is mounted on one of the lines coming into the evaporator the third is the defrost timer which can be in several places most of the time in the refrigerator compartment cant tell you exactly where as i have no info on your model pull the bottom kickplate and see if there is a tech sheet there that may give you the location then look in the fridge compartment and see if you can locate it is your model a sxs or top mount

Refrigerator Not Making Ice, Frost in Freezer and Refrigerator Not Cold

It has a defrost problem.  Most likely cause would be the defrost thermostat which clips onto the evaporator behind the back panel in the freezer.  Next most common would be the defrost timer.  Third would be the defrost heater.  Let me know if you want to try to test these parts.  If so I will need the entire model # from the sticker in the fridge or on older models on a plate at the bottom front below the door.
