Well, it is hardly surprising it does not work, then. The battery will have needed to be kept charged, and the internal electronics in the camcorder may well have deteriorated during this period (see other posts for further details). I am sorry, I cannot help you further - you will either need to get it repaired (costly) or replace it (probably cheaper).
