Hm, if you talking of a blind hem foot, this indicates that one came with the Singer One.

1 ONE Singer Sewing

It appears your machine has a snap-on foot capability, so if that is the case, a snap-on blind hem foot should work.

Installing reverse lever for Singer Simple 3116

How To Reverse Stitch On A Singer Sewing Machine Correctly

Step 1. Press the reverse button

  • Refer to the Singer manual of the specific machine you have
  • Please find the button with the U-shaped arrow, typically at the front of the sewing machine, or check your manual for where it's located
  • Press the reverse stitch button and start sewing

Step 2. Start sewing

  • Hold the material as the sewing machine sews backward and stop it manually by taking your foot off the pedal
  • Deactivate the reverse stitch function by pressing the button again
  • Be careful not to hit the thread plate to avoid bunching
  • If you accidentally press the wrong button, turn off the Singer sewing machine and turn it on again to reset

Is singer contessa 974N compatible with flower stitch foot

You may want to contact Singer directly. They will be able to determine if the flower stitch unit is compatible with your machine.
According to the Singer site, it doesn't look like it is:

Flower Stitch Presser Foot Attachment

This one will fit any low-shank machines:

Metal blind foot hem 6217c

The 6217C doesn't have a blind hem foot. You need the General Purpose (low-shank) foot, the General Purpose Needle Plate and the blind hem guide (part number 381213). The guide gets secured by the screw that holds the presser foot shank. This site, http://cart.jennys-sewing-studio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=473 , has the blind hem guide available. This metal foot might fit your machine: http://cart.jennys-sewing-studio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=530_73_101_164_168&products_id=463 .

I hope this helps.

Does the singer 3116 come with a blind stitch for hemming

Most sewing machines come with a blind hem stitch. It is the one that looks like several small zig-zags then occasionally a large one, or several straight stitches then a large zig-zag. Either will result in an invisible hem.

Some machines have a special foot but it is not necessary, mine does not. There is however a special way of folding the fabric.

I have a 5417 C, How do I do a Blind Stitch?

You will need a blind stitch foot. I believe that your machine requires a short shank foot. If you already have the foot, you can refer to the Singer sewing book for step by step or go to YouTube for a video of the process (the video uses a different machine but the process is the same) :

I downloaded your manual for free at www.singerco.com and I be darned, I see why you are baffled. Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask them to tell you. This is a first for me to see in a machine that is not that old, my 45 year old Kenmore has the blind stitch setting. There has to be some answer to this.

Just purchased this model today and it has no blind hem foot. Instruction manual telle me I need to purchase from local dealer. Can this be odered on line? Manual quotes number 006812008 is this...

You can order from Singer at 1-800-4singer or ebay. On ebay they start at about $14 + $2 for shipping. Just put in "blind hem foot for Singer and you will see a variety of them. Take your pick. I don't know what Singer charges. JoAnn fabrics may carry them or a sewing machine retailer but anyway you do it, it is not expensive. Just remember that you have a low shank machine. Good luck and happy sewing.

Sewing machine straight stitch is not straight

It sounds like it is making a blind stitch, does it look something like this? -----v-----v-----v-----v-----v If so it might be on the blind stitch setting instead of the straight stitch! ;-)
