SOURCE: Black & Decker Quattro, drill, won't tighten to grip drill bit.

give a good coating of oil then clamp chuck in a bench vice or alike and using short bursts with it set in the forward direction to free the chuck

SOURCE: Black and Decker corded drill won't tighten around a bit.

the chuck sounds like it is bad or maybe stuck from rust, what you can try and do is spray some WD-40 on the jaws and then try and holding the collar with a glove and run the drill SLOWLY in forward/reverse and see if it loosens up if not you will need a new one.

Hi, either the carby is flooding and requires a carby kit or the spark arrestor or outlet in the muffler is blocked. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

The shaft in my drill press wiggles back and forth enough that it doesn't drill true i.e. at 90 degrees to the workpiece. How to fix?

Strip it down, check for loose mountings. If those are OK, find which bearings are worn and replace them. With drill presses, you get what you pay for.

Custom cool drawer sliding mechanism broke

Most of the rail slides, when they break apart, cannot be repaired. It would be better to replace the complete assembly.

My battery cord has split right wher it goes into the charger how should i fix this

The best way to fix this is to open the case, strip both wires back to expose the wire, slide a shrink wrap insulator over each individual wire, and then solder the wires back together. When connected, slide the shrink insulation down over the solder connection and then use heat to shrink the insulation around your repair, then close the case back up.

Horrible grinding/buzzing noise when spinning game discs and does't read them 50% of the time, but plays dvd movies fine with no buzzing/grinding noise no red lights at any time

It the cd drive hub or the spindle motor pad is dirty.
It isn't clamping the disk firmly so when the drive
speeds up or stops abruptly the disc continues
to spin , it shouldn't cause surface damage to
the cd but it sounds like hell .

If you disassemble the xbox and the cd rom
drive ,clean the the hub and spindle motors pad
this should remedy the noise problem.

Also there is the possibility that
the hub magnet came loose this
would decress the clamping force
of the hub, than you would need to
snap the round magnet in the Hub
back in to place . if get there
let me know and ill explain further

if you have any questions just comment and ill respond

Picture jumps when i turn on my console

it could be your laser needs cleaning, strip the machine down and take apart your dvd drive casing. get a cotton earbud and spit on it a little, in a very careful clockwise motions (dont put too much pressure on) clean the laser eye with the cotton earbud (with the spit on it). you can also use alcohol but i dont like this as it can sometimes leave a little film over the laser.

put everything back together then try again if its ok you have fixed it, if its still the same let me know and ill find a guide on how to adjust your laser unit and put the power up slightly.
