SOURCE: my watch band is ripted

I don't know this watch in particular, but I know there are two main types of bands. Coded and non-coded. The S120 uses non-coded. That means you can use possibly any band on the market. Bands I know are compatible: Sigma and Ciclosport. The Polar bands are sealed, so you can use them while swimming. That's not true of the other two I mentioned - but the upside is you can replace the battery yourself once it wears down. You can probably get a replacement band from Polar directly, or buy a cheap knockoff elsewhere.

How do I unlock settings (general, user, exercise)?

Shortcut battery with AC contact. AC can be found on the sides of watch movement(very tiny). You have to use pointed tweezers: one end on battery+, another on AC contact for three secs..

Hello Clintsanders,

I am sorry to inform you but there is no way that you can repair the unit yourself, you will need to return the unit to Polar to be repaired. Here is a LINK to Polar and all of there service centers and the numbers and procedure that you need to follow in order to return your unit for repair.

Sorry but this is not a DIY item.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

I have numbers on the screen (and a new battery), but when I press the red button nothing happens

Really the only thing to do is send into a Polar Authorized Service Center. If you did this for your battery replacement then you have a warranty and the service is free. If you used a regular watch place or did it yourself (never recommended) then something could have been damaged inside.

How do i turn it on?? a friend sent me hers since she got a new one, and it won't turn on...

If the screen is completely blank then you need a new battery, the watches are always "on".

if there are numbers on the screen and you need to know how to get it too start for exercising then just push the red button.

In my tips and tricks page is a tip with a link to download the manual for free.

For battery replacement go to this link.

Reset button has no impact on S120 - no functions available other than time of day

The S120 is now a fairly old watch. When the function buttons and heart rate cease to function this is generally an indicator that the battery needs to be replaced. The buttons themselves can also become worn out or weak of function, in either case you have a couple of options.

1) send in to a Polar Authorized Service center: This is very important, do not take to a normal watch shop. You need the watch properly resealed and handled correctly as well as you may need parts such as a button return spring they will not have. Plus there is a 90day warranty on Polar's repair. You will also need to send in your chest strap just to make sure that is still functioning properly. Battery repair about $15-, new buttons another $10ish, and a chest strap if needs replacing about $25 or $30-. $50-$60 total if everything needs work, but this is just an estimate.

2) buy a new watch unit. The RS100 (the current replacement) is about $100- and is easier to use with a better chest strap.

Lost manuel

Just Googled polar f4 manual (not manuel, he was in Fawlty Towers!) and this came up straight away. It leads to the Polar Website

How do i unlock my polar f6 watch?

Press and hold the LIGHT button (top left button) to manually unlock. It's on page 23 of the manual. (Assuming you're talking about keylock.)
