SOURCE: magellan explorist XL won't power up past a blue screen
I have never hooked up to the computer to update anything.
We are seniors so we are not extacly computer savy, do you have any other advice? Our Magellan we bought in 2010.
You're probably out of luck (and the money!) The risks of buying from a private party.

Clear up as much internal memory as you can. Put apps onto SD Card. Clear the miscellaneous files completely and clear all the cached data. That should do it.

Ditch the Android and get an Apple.
