Connecting LG 50PC3d to Computer

I had my computer connected to my TV for almost a year. I then recently changed to a differant cable provider adding an HD Receiver. Since then I receive a "no signal" on the TV when trying to use my TV connected to the computer? I have tried hours of troubleshooting various settings on the video card and have proved that the cable is ok. I am using a VGA cable from the PC into the TV. The HD receiver uses an HDMI cable. The S/V cable works from the computer to the TV? The video card recognizes the TV as LG will show up in Dislpay settings? It appears that the PC input on the TV is blocked? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you have the resolution of the PC set to an incompatable format for your TV.

How do I get the sound through my LG M197WD Flat screen monitor when using it with my PC? Sound is fine when using it as a TV!

What video cable are you using between the TV and the computer? If you are using a VGA, DVI or DVI-HDMI cable, you need to connect a 3.5 mm audio patch cord between the computer's audio out and the PC audio in on the TV. The audio out on the computer will be the speaker (green) port on the back of a desktop or the headphone jack. (Make sure that this jack works by connecting a different set of computer headphones or speakers to the computer.) The audio in jack on the TV is above the RGB input; it's just to the left of the digital audio out.

Check that the correct audio output is selected. From the Hardware and Sound Control Panel, look at Manage Audio Devices and the Playback option. If your computer has an HDMI port, that may have become the default audio output device. Change this setting. (Not all TVs can accept HDMI signals from a computer but a number of video cards are encoding this as the default during install.) Try a new audio patch cable between the TV and the computer.

If another set of speakers doesn't work, you need to check the drivers for your computer. In the Device Manager (click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager), scroll down to the section for Sound controllers and expand it. Then check for updates for the audio driver. If necessary, uninstall the driver (by right clicking on the audio driver). Then shut down the computer and restart it.

The manual for the M197WD is available from LG here: http://www.lg.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-tv-monitor-M197WD.jsp . Click on the support tab and the link is on the right side of the page.

My directions are for Windows 7; it's slightly different for other versions of Windows.

I hope this helps. Please post a comment with the video connection that you are using if you need additional assistance.

Lg 50pc3d screen and z50pj240 could fit viseversa?

No, they have completely different displays - one is made by LG and the other by Samsung.

You can't mix those two.

Sorry, don't kill the messenger :-)

Trying to connect my 50 inch 50PC3D plasma tv, to my playstation 3 using HDMI cable. The tv is giving me an invalid format, is there an explanation/solution to this?

The PS3 video resolution setting is too high for the TV to work, please see your PS3 user manual on how to lower the resolution to the native resolution of this TV.

Wife was watching tv and the picture went out. We currently have direct tv for the service provider. Tried watching a dvd and had the same result. However, sound works on the tv just no picture.

I would start by obviously checking all connections on the back of the tv. Sounds like maybe your Yellow RCA cable might have creeped out. Red and White RCAs are typically for sound and Yellow is for Video. Hope this helps

Unplug power cord- safety first!
open backcover
check powersupply- top center right is p.s.
top left side of powersupply you'll see 5 capacitor 3300uF 10V.
see any pop up on top? replace it All with same rate or 16v is O.K.
do not use temperature rate 75c. Use 105C.
if you know how to solder. you could save $300 at least!

Computer interfacing

You have a computer (what manufacturer and model?) connected to a Netgear WGR614 wireless router (please confirm the router manufacturer and model) by wire or wireless?

If the computer is connected wireless is it with a wireless adapter built into the computer or added to the computer?

If it was added to the computer what is the manuracturer's name and model of the add-on device?

Has any other computer ever successfully connected to the internet using your router?
  • If so was the computer connected using a wire, if possible?
  • If so was the computer connected wirelessly?
If no computers were connected successfully to the router please provide the name of your internet service provider?
I also may need to know the city and state you are located in or other information. We probably need to configure the router to attach to your internet service providers equipment

The following are to determine if the internet service providers equipment has been successfully installed and the capabilities of that equipment as it may support connecting your router, if necessary, and your computer to the internet.
Were any computers ever successfully connected to the internet by directly connecting to your internet service providers hardware?

If yes how were they connected
  • USB cable?
  • Ethernet Cable?
  • Wireless?
  • If wireless what is the manufacturer and model of the internet serivce providers hardware providing the wireless service?
