Radio LED Lights:
CP200 user guide indicates a Flashing Yellow indicates a Call Alert or a Selective Call. (If you have this feature set up on your CP200/PR400 style radios.) A steady Yellow indicates you have your radio set to Sticky Monitor (open squelch)
Flashing Red indicates receiving or low battery if you get a blinking red while transmitting.
Flashing Green indicates you are in scan mode.

Charger LED Lights:
No LED - battery not detected or inserted incorrectly.
Single Green Flash - successful charger power up.
Flashing Red - Battery unchargeable or not making proper connection.
Red - Battery is charging.
Flashing Yellow - Battery is in charger but waiting to charge. The battery temp may be too hot or too cold. The voltage may be lower than the predetermined threshold level for charging. (Leave battery on charger for 24 hours to see if it will resolve on its own.)

Why motorola radius cp200 flashes red while charging?

Typically when the charger flashes red you have one of the following conditions:
1) The battery is simply too low to charge. Leave it on the charger for a few hours to see if it resolves. If it is a new battery return the battery for a replacement.
2) Your battery is not making good connection. Clean the battery and charger contacts with a pencil eraser. Check your contacts in the charge itself to make certain one isn't damaged or broken.
3) Your battery has an internal short. Test the battery on another charger to see if you get the same result. If so, replace the battery. 4) If you have a charger problem, the best test is to try another battery in the charger. Reminder: be certain the insert is turned the correct direction for the battery you are using.

HEllo, I have a Motorola Radius CP200. When I

If the sound is continuous, like a long tone humming, it is possible you are on a channel which is not programmed. Try changing your channel knob to a different channel and see if the sound changes.

If the sound is not continous, and only happens upon pressing a button, we are not certain what you are experiencing without seeing the radio first hand.

If it were the battery you would get a low battery beep and then the radio would shut itself down. This can happen from a bad battery or a low battery. If this were the situation, you should check your charger and be certain the light comes on and stays on when the radio is placed on the charger. (Note: your radio should always be turned off when on the charger.) A quick test would be to swap the battery with a known good radio and see if you have the same problem. If so, you know it is not a battery or charging problem.

If none of these items help, send or bring the radio to a Motorola repair shop for a quick analysis.

ONE OF MY CP200 RADIOS HAS A STEADY SQUELCH SOUND ON ALL 4 CHANNELS, HOW CAN I FIX THIS?

One possible problem is a bad battery. Try swapping batteries with a known good unit and see if the problem is solved. If it is not the battery, then your radio is likely in need of repair.

Compatibility

If your CP200 has a model number beginning with AAH50R it can be programmed to match the RDU2080d. If your CP200 model number begins with AAH50K, then the answer is no.

The letter R in the model number indicates it is UHF, and on the RDU2080d, the letter U in the model name indicates it is UHF. Both of these radios are programmable, and could be reprogrammed to match one another, if both UHF.

Can transmit but not receive, same with or without mic, have tried different mic ...no dice ?

Your radio is in need of repair. Typically you can find flat rate repair for the CP200 style radio for around $85. You may have a bad speaker, or other internal issue.

My Motorola Radius CP200 has lost all channels that was set by dealer is there a way to reset back to factory settings?

It is seldom a CP200 loses frequencies/PL code settings. It is more likely the radio has a bad battery or another issue. The only way to reprogram the radio is by taking it back to a Motorola dealer, as they are all dealer programmable only. Sorry.

Best regards.
