Use the Garmin Express program from Garmin. Down load and install the program, then connect your GPS to your PC. The program will allow you to install map and software updates.

Yes, Garmin satnavs use Navteq maps. Go to www.Navteq.com and there's a link there called Map Reporter where they take reports of map changes. I have reported several in the past and eventually they all appeared on map updates.
If the maps are on an sd card you may be able to put tom tom on but as for updates myguide no longer exist and so don't provide updates. Mine still works fine and any roads that have been built that don't appear on the sat nav i have managed anyway.

You'll need to update the maps on your sat nav, they don't automatically update. You'll have to go to nuvi website and download them to your unit via the PC. Visit the nuvi website and follow the detailed instruction.
