When you are in a building, it is normal for a GPS receiver that it can't make contact with enough GPS satellites, to calculate wrier it is. When you are outside and have a clear sky, it can take up to one or two minutes before the GPS receiver can work out where it is. But that is it. When your battery has not enough power, the camera also can switch of the GPS, to save power.
