I have a new XR-AT Peavey powered mixer and the USB MP3 player does not work. I have music on to a USB, pluged it in to the mixer and it cannot find any songs. Am I doing something wrong?

I need a bit more information but from what i can tell it's about the power supply capacitors issue, as this devices are known to develop such kind of humming annoying noise when they go under the specified value, let me know further,
Regards.
This is a high output piezo pickup but won't give line level signals expected by some inputs so I would guess you may be going into a line input. If so try a mic input (XLR) instead and see if that works.
That's easily done. Simply connect the left(or right) output of your mixer to one of the channels on the peavey. Use any line input. Since the peavey is a mono system, there's no need sending a stereo mix to it.
