Hmm seems like something is loose to be having a wet spark plug might wanna make sure nothing is loose there as fuel popping onto the spark plug on the spark wire could lead to a fire

Whats the proplem ifthe spark plug is wet with petrol

If the plug is wet with fuel, it is an indication that the plug is not firing properly. Possible causes? Distributor cap, rotor, points/inductive pickup, spark plug wire or the spark plug itself. If you or a friend, relative, etc. has or has access to an inductive pickup timing light, connect the light to a power source and the inductive pickup to the plug wire of the "wet" spark plug. Start the engine and observe if the flash from the timing light is relatively constant in its frequency or is it erratic and sporadic. If the latter is true, check the distributor cap, rotor, distributor points/inductive pickup and plug wire. If the former is true, remove the spark plug and check the compression against other cylinders. If compression is good, replace the spark plug with a new one. If compression is lower than others, the air/fuel mixture in that cylinder is not being compressed engough for combustion, leaving the spark plug "wet". To learn the cause, put a teaspoon of motor oil in the spark plug hole, and recheck compression. If it doesn't increase, you probably have a valve or head gasket problem. If it does rise, you probably have a piston ring problem . Good luck

Will not start.Fuel pump sounds like its working, car turns over but will not fire into life. had same problem in the winter but fixed itself.

Sounds more like an intermittent problem has become permanent, nothing ever fixes itself. You are going to have to start by figuring out whether it is lack of fuel or spark. Pull a plug out and see if it is dry or wet with gas. If it is wet then you have fuel coming into the chamber. Have someone turn the ignition key while a wire connected spark plug is held down touching the engine block. DANGER WILL ROBINSON CHANCE OF SHOCK. Do not use yourself as an electrical path from the plug to the block. If you see a spark jumping across the little gap on the tip of the plug, then you have spark. If no fuel most likely you are looking at a fuel pump or pressure regulator, if no spark an ignition module or computer. This can become very expensive very quickly. I would spend a hundred at a dealer getting a diagnosis before I spent dollar one on parts. If you scroll through these queries you will find many, many situations where folks have spent hundreds replacing good parts with new parts and have yet to stumble upon the bad part.

Drove 96 dodge caravan thru a flash flooded roadway. had to make a quick a quick stop, van died. Have replaced starter because of grinding upon trying to start. Now it just makes one click when trying to...

Check cables must be tight at battery & starter. You must have 12 volts coming out of battery to starter.
Pull your dip stick is it over filled or milky looking. If so you very likely have water in engine.
Can you turn the fly wheel or is the engine locked up?
Drain the oil replace filter remove spark plugs turn engine backward to unlock engine. Drain fuel and replace fuel filter. Remove air filter has it gotten wet? Now crank it over with Air filter & spark plugs out. Now put in new air filter spark plugs dry wires & coils. And start the car, If car starts don't drive drain transmission change filter. If it did not start you may have done damage to computer or wiring.
But you got to see if engine is locked up if 12 volts is to starter & that no water is in oil or fuel.

2004 F150 6 cyl - engine misses

yes , if it is sparking to ground or from the coil , but if it is comming off the wires down by the coil then its the wires (maybe laying on a hot point of the engine)
but also check the wires all the way to the coil to see if they maybe sparking somewhere along the way

Car won't start after sitting parked for over a year

hi! there,
even how new your battery was, there some other component cars have in starting your car, battery is just one factor
the ignition system need to check for proper maintenance.since most of them now are elctronically system.this where starting came when you turn your key the current flow mostly in ignition system until your spark plug ignite and produce combustion upon cranking your engine if all are in full condition your engine run,in your case ther are some faulty part and wiring needed to check.
try to clean your ignition coil some impurities block current flow.
check your ignition module most terminals acid may jump current flowing, check all cables that connect distributor to spark plug replace faulty cable, spurk plug clean contact point of spark plug if necessary replace, tighten connection of your starter motor couple to your fly wheel maybe theres a loosen connection, internally spark plug becoming wet had hard the current flow due to leak on rocker arm valve seat, oil is leaking check this out,if all are quite ok
star your engine.regards and have a nice day

2001 caviler and it will turn over and want start

it could be a lot of things.... did the car just die? was the weather wet? does it turn over fast..? is there any spark getting to the plugs? plug a spark tester into the plug wire and set it to a low gap .030" see if the arc jumps the gap. if it does pull a spark plug out and look at it. it should be golden brown with a fairly square electrode. the ground should be over top of the electrode not eroded away . can you smell fuel when u try to start the car? when u crank the car over and it doesnt start are the spark plugs wet?

Car wont start when it's wet

replace your spark plug cables. Moisture in the air is settling on the spark plug wires which does not allow the spark to travel down to the spark plugs.
