Hi Shane, sounds like a dirty or worn laser. If memory serves there are two screws on each side and two on the upper rear. Once the lid is off you should be able to see cd laser. If so you need a cotton bud ( ear plug ) and a dash of Isoproponol ( from any chemist )...make sure unit is switched off...soak end of bud in isoproponol and wipe over laser ensuring it is clean..leave for 30 minutes and switch on and put disk in to check..hope this helps..
The MV-P162U is a stereo mic designed to plug into a JVC professional camcorder. dates from the 1990's and was very expensive. If the 6 pin plug has not been cut off, and you can get a socket to fit, then going clockwise around pins (or wiring side of socket) from the locator. 1) R phase + 2) +8V supply 3) -ve supply/gnd 4) L phase + 5) L phase - 6) R phase - suggest a small breakout box. tested it with a 9v battery - the drain is 14ma. could run from 12v via a 285 ohm (approx) resistor with a 47uf cap across the mic supply.
Yes. You should be able to plug it in it your microphone jack.
First, find the mic jack. it should be located right next to the headphone jack.
Open your sound dialog. You can find it by right-clicking the volume control and selecting recording devices.
Look for your microphone in the dialog. It should have a green tick on it. If it doesn't, select it and click "Set Default".
(note: your microphone may not show as a separate entity. if not, select your default microphone and test it by speaking into the MV29. The level should change)
