Genuine battery message

U are not using an original LG battery. They have some sort of chip inside them for ID purposes. When you use another battery, even though it fits properly, the phone will not charge the battery!!!!
On my LG the off brand battery works but I have to use a universal charger to do the deed and not the phone. It appears LG has taken it one step further by not even allowing you to use a non LG battery!
That really bites!!!!!!!!!

First remove the paper from behind the draws, that is probably what cause the problem. Then you need to get into service mode. Utility/counter, details, stop 00 stop 01, password 9272927292729272, system one, trouble isolate,

Find the draw causing the issue then your going "SET" then power off WAIT TEN SECONDS power on then go though the entire procedure again get to the screen and select UNSET. Power off WAIT Ten seconds power on. Your draw should show back up.

• After changing the setting, touch [Decision] and turn the main power switch OFF and ON to make the new setting effective.

I've done this exact same thing - once the phone gets wet, especially when it is on, there isn't much hope.

check your battery amphare by multimeter. if its amphere range is 900 to 10234 then your battery. but not then change your battery.

take up the phone where the cercut board is and bring up the contacts

This is due to malfunction of battery,

i have also experienced same kind of problem with nokia set which is other model. i have also done same what you have done. Change or replace your mobile battery. so it 'll finally solves your problem.

you need to take the phone to a mobile service center and have them fully service the phone for you.

I folded up a small piece of paper and put it in between the battery and back case.

I left my phone in the yard and it got rained on (don't ask), and I brought it inside, took the battery out, and let it dry for a day. I reinserted the battery and it worked for a few days until i got the "Use genuine battery" message. I put a small piece of white paper (actually the back of the label of a bottle of Blue Moon) over the moisture indicator, put the battery back in, and everything worked, much to my surprise.

Not exactly a solution. I tried leaving it off overnight and tried it several times after removing and inserting the batteries. I also cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and a Q tip. It did not fix it. But I just left it off for 2 days meaning to go to the Verizon store and get it fixed or replaced. But I turned it on now and it fixed itself! Model VX8300. Maybe the contact cleaning did it but it had to dry more. You can use a Q Tip dipped in a cup of water with a teaspoon of Mr.Clean. But then rinse it with a water wet Q tip and then dry it with a paper towel. I used contact cleaner.
