Some of the music format are not compatible to Sony Walkman, some music files are protected by DRM. You can try leawo video converter to change the audio format or try leawo Prof. DRM to remove DRM protection. Here is the guide you can refer to https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/how-to-transfer-music-from-spotify-to-sony-walkman-1372.html

The message means the music is copy protected and that means it will not play outside the device it was downloaded to, in your case the Walkman.

I have a Sony MP3 Player Walkman NW-E005F. I am getting a message displayed on the walkman: 'DRM Error' that is preventing many songs from being played. Can I have some assistance please!

It means the Digital Rights to the song have expired.

From Sony's site:
"This issue may occur if the license for the track you are trying to play has expired on the device. If you currently subscribe to a music subscription service, connect the device and sign into the account to refresh your license to allow for playback. You may need to do this once during each billing period to listen to the subscription music you have transferred. If you are no longer a subscriber to the service where you downloaded the file from, you can delete the song from your portable player to prevent this error from occurring each time you try to play the song back."

Cannot play says please connect to compliant software and update license information

Hi,

This issue may occur if the license for the track you are trying to play has expired on the device. If you currently subscribe to a music subscription service, connect the device and sign into the account to refresh your license to allow for playback. You may need to do this once during each billing period to listen to the subscription music you have transferred. If you are no longer a subscriber to the service where you downloaded the file from, you can delete the song from your portable player to prevent this error from occurring each time you try to play the song back.
If the issue happens with all the songs in the Player, format the Player and transfer the songs again using the Software or by dragging using the Windows Explorer.

It is new got it at christmas and it keeps giving a license agreement error and want let you play or download

Hey,do you mean that the music in your walkman mp3 player doesn't play because of license problem ? if yes,I can help u.you could try this program http://www.removing-drm.com/music-converter/reference.html
it can crack drm license and let all the music in your computer or mp3 players free .so that you could download music and movies as many as you want and let them play in your walkman mp3 player

Not working

The license on the songs has expired, and that's the problem with DRM-protected WMA's. You will need to renew the license through the music service from which you downloaded the songs. If your subscription has lapsed, you will need to renew it. Then, you'll have to delete the songs on your Walkman, and reload them once you have updated the license.

If you only download and transfer files in mp3 format you will never have this problem, and you can keep the songs forever.

All my songs say liscence expired

The license on the songs that you have transferred to your mp3 player have an expired DRM license. The only way to "unexpire" the license is to refresh your license through the music service that you downloaded the songs from. If you have let your subscription lapse, the licenses will stay expired.

Philips GoGear

The songs that you are trying to load have a license type that the GoGear does not support, or the license does not allow playback on mp3 players. The solution would depend on the music service that you are using, and the type of GoGear that you have - on some music services, you can pay extra money to get a song that has a license that allows transfer and playback on mp3 players.

If, instead of an SA6045, you have a newer model Go Gear, you may not be able to play DRM-encrypted songs at all. In which case, the solution would be to sign up for a music service that only gives you songs in mp3 format.

None of the GoGears - ever- were ever compatible with iTunes.

Wont play music

The songs are in the wrong format - they are probably DRM-encrypted WMA files that you are trying to transfer, and the license on those files are wrong; they are either "fixed-term" or lack "transfer rights"

To resolve, either upgrade your music svc subscription, or convert the songs to Mps format

Error message: "Cannot play; the license is expired"

You will have to either renew your music service subsription, or convert the song to mp3 format. all WMA files have a license - if it is expired, you will get this message.

Error message: "Cannot play; the license is expired"

I went to www.sony.com and was able to find the solution. If your songs were downloaded from services similar to Napster then you will have to log back into the service to refresh the licenses on the songs. If you no longer are subscribing to the service then you will need to delete the songs from your player. If you need further information you can find it on the Sony website.
