Can not send e mail

Why not? Are you connected to the internet to send it? Are you using your email client (AT&T, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.)?

I've seen people be on websites or doing something on the computer and all of a sudden click the send email option without being in their email client. This brings up Microsoft Outlook and unless you've configured Outlook as your email client, it is not going to send the email.

Reinstall QuickBook Pro 2008 after clean reinstall of XP Pro SP3

Once you reinstall Quickbooks, you should be able to copy your QB files to the My Documents folder then open that file in quickbooks

ok - hmmm, not much to go on - huh?

when you email an invoice in quickbooks:
a) quickbooks is dependant on having the proper PDF printer drivers (for converting the document from qb format to pdf)
(or)
b) is dependant on having the proper outlook drivers (if trying to use "outlook" option for email delivery
(or)
c) is dependant on having the proper internet explorer drivers (if your trying to use Intuit Email Services)

at the moment, alot of users are reporting problems with windows 7 and compatibility of PDF converter. Could that be your case?

a) If you are using Windows 7 and trying to use PDF - you will find this forum useful:

there are three solutions posted:
1. the first solution (has 9 steps) - many users claim works (but the error is not the same as yours)
2. the second solution (has 13 steps) - will work on your error specifically (I know this, because yesturday, I had a client get the same error your getting - AFTER we followed the 9-step instructions.)
3. the third solution, is similiar to intuit's solution, which did not work for us.

If you are a windows 7 users, I would suggest that you try the "13 step" version first.

If you are not using windows 7 or are not using PDF converter, please tell me more about your quickbooks email preferences? are you trying to use Intuit Email Services? or Outlook?

Better use some online storage services like http://rapidshare.com/ to upload big files and then send only link to the file over email or open email account at Gmail (http://mail.google.com); they will allow you sending and receiving big attachments

Email invoices from quickbooks

Qb 2009 is a 32 bit application and cannot operate well in a 64 bit OS.
It will not successfully work with the email.

The email capability of the QuickBooks is typically tied to outlook, or outlook express. If the new system does not have MS office installed, then QuickBooks email capability will probably fail.

Upgrading from Quickbooks Pro 2003 to Quickbooks 2009

I would not open up the company file in 2009. Open your 2003 Quickbooks, make a backup and then restore the back up in 2009. If you do run into problems you might want to upgrade into 2006 and then to 2009. (you will need to find someone who can do this for you if you don't have a 2006 version. I can help you with that if you need it

I have Quickbooks 2008 and agree with Coss71, you need .NET 2.0 in order for it to run properly in addition to SP2.

Here are the information that have to be entered into the desktop email software so that Hotmail can be accessed:

Incoming Server: pop3.live.com
Incoming Port: 995
SSL Encryption: yes
Outgoing Server: smtp.live.com
Outgoing port: 25 (use port 587 if the default port is not working)
Authentication: yes
TLS Or SSL: yes

Please note that the names might differ depending on the desktop email client in use. The values on the other hand do not change. The username (usually the Windows Live Hotmail email address) and password are the same that are used when logging into the Hotmail website using a web browser.
There is no need for configuration of POP3 on the Hotmail website. Outlook Mail problem - wpsf-img.php

You have to be running Office 2003 or 2007 and you need to install the Microsoft Office Outlook connector for windows live hotmail.

Exit Outlook.
Download the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector.
When prompted to open or save the file, click Open.
When prompted to run the software, click Run. Note You may see a security prompt, depending on which operating system or Web browser you use. If you see such a dialog box, you must click the option to continue with the installation.
Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the installation.
The next time you start Outlook, you are prompted to configure the Outlook Connector. Enter the following information:
Your e-mail address
Your password
Your name as you want it to appear in the receiver's Inbox
Click OK.
