Ademco Vista keypad says "Chime Bat"

The "Chime Bat" message on your Ademco Vista keypad indicates that the battery in the chime module is low and needs to be replaced. The chime module is a small device that produces a sound when the system is disarmed or when a door or window is opened.
To change the battery in the chime module, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the chime module. It is usually mounted on a wall near the main control panel or in a closet.
  2. Remove the cover of the chime module. The cover is typically held in place by a small clip or screw.
  3. Locate the battery compartment. It is usually located on the back or bottom of the chime module.
  4. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one. The type of battery required will depend on the model of your chime module. Refer to the owner's manual or contact Ademco for information on the correct battery type.
  5. Replace the cover of the chime module and secure it in place.
After replacing the battery, the "Chime Bat" message should disappear from the keypad display

Remote control car parts

You may need to reprogram the remotes.
1. Turn ignition to run position (as far as you can go without starting engine).
2. Using any Working remote, press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds.
3. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the UNLOCK buton and press
the PANIC button for 1 second and release both buttons at the same time. A chime will
sound within 3 seconds to indicate that the vehicle has entered remote programming
mode.
4. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press any button on all remotes to be programmed
including previously programmed remotes. A chime will sound after each remote is
programmed.
5. Turn ignition to OFF and remove key.
6. Test all remotes.

Phantom bell rings on Siemens wirreless door bell chime jsjs-204, I do not have instructions

You may need to change the frequency of the chime. In this model, you need to remove the batteries from the receiver unit and wait for a while. Then replace the batteries. The doorbell unit should automatically set itself to a different frequency once you press the button, which will(hopefully) solve the problem.

It seems impossible to find the instruction manual for the doorbell. But see http://oddsnsods.net/blog/?p=68 who had a similar problem with a different Siemens model, which works on the same principles. (I can't seem to be able to remove the battery from the door bell unit on the jsjs204, but it reset itself after changing the batteries in the receiver).

Trying to reset the code for my DESA wireless doorbell but the only combination that works is 5,6 & 7. Need another code because neighbor has that code.

It would appear that there are pins in both the ringer and door button and you have to change them so they match. To remove the door button, slide the case straight up slightly (maybe 1/8 inch). Pry the top of the case away from its base and slide down to remove the entire button assembly. The pins are inside, next to the battery. 5/6/7 seems to be the default, so any other combination of three pins should solve your neighborhood conflict. (Don't use pin 8. That one changes the ring from a two-tone chime to a 16-note sequence.)

The doorbell buttons and your receiver must be on the same channel. If you will get out the directions that came with your unit, they will describe the process to go through to reset the specific "codes" for your buttons and receiver.

I changed the batteries on my door bell, and it still wont ring

Troubleshooting
Chime does not sound:
• Make sure the doorbell button and the chime codes are the same (See pages
2 and 3).
• Check orientation of doorbell button battery (See page 3).
• Check the doorbell button and chime batteries, replace if necessary.
Batteries seem OK, but the chime does not work when installed:
• Do not mount the chime or doorbell button on metal or near metal studs. This
reduces the transmitter range. Use 1/4" to 1/2" (6 to 13 mm) wood shims to
move the chime or doorbell button off the metal surface.
• Don't mount the chime too close to ground level concrete slabs. This may
also reduce the range. Mount the chime away from the floor.
• Try different locations for the chime closer to the doorbell button. Also try to
orient the chime at a different angle to increase the range.
The range of the doorbell depends on location, temperature and battery
condition.

From User Guide: Interference from a similar unit operating nearby: a) simply remove the batteries from the push button and door chime units and rest for 10 seconds, this will erase memory b) Insert the batteries into the push button and door chime units, the door chime unit will give 2-beeps to indicate that it is ready for the new registration code. Press the Push Button once, it will generate a new operation code randomly and send a wireless ignal to the door chime unit and it will sound to indicate that new operation code is registered and memorised.
(Note with this unit SX85R the door chime is mains powered, not battery powered, but above instructions are the same)
