Adding 0

What does that mean adding? Displaying extra zeros? If that is the case Press [2nd][.] and limit the number of decimal you want.
You can put the calculator in FLOating mode: Press 2nd DRG and choose FLO.

My Texas Instruments Calculator (TI-30X IIS) keeps giving me "Syntax Error"

The calculator doesn't handle implied multiplication, so you must explicitly enter the multiplication operator.

You may be in a wrong MODE. But even in any computational mode you should be able to do simple operations.

I have DEG on the calculator screen and get figure out how to turn it off??

Press the DRG key to cycle through the three angle modes. Be aware that whatever mode you select, the corresponding indicator will appear on the screen.

The angle mode should not affect the exponential and logarithmic functions. If you still get errors, please post an example or two, including the exact keystroke sequences.

I need to use the exponential function with a negative exponent on my TI-30XIIS. I hit 2nd then e^x button, but when i input a negative exponent I get an error. Help please!

I think what you did was use the minus sign instead of the negative sign, on that calculator, the two are not interchangeable. I purposely used the minus sign just now and also got a syntax error, but it looks like it works with the negative sign (-) located under the 3 button.

Error 07

Error 07 is Syntax Error. From the manual: "You entered a value; look for misplaced functions, arguments, parentheses, or commas; check the syntax description in the A to Z reference."

If you can't find and fix the error, could you post the expression producing the error?

My TI-30XIIS calculator displays an arrow,an DEG, and a K always on my screen whenever i try to do simple multiplication. it says Syntax error and will not compute an answer.............

I had this problem also and just fixed it. I hit 2nd key...don't hold it, (it should say 2nd in the lower left corner across from the DEG) then click the K button (also the divide key). The arrow and DEG will remain, but do not affect simple math calculations. Hope this helps!

Syntax error on TI-30XIIS calculator when i press enter = sign

I had the same problem and finally figured out how to fix it. You need to clear the memory. To do so, first press and release the 2nd button at the top left of the calculator. You will see "2nd" appear on the screen at the lower left. next press the 0 button (which 2nd function is "Reset"). The key to making this work is: do not hold the 2nd button while pressing the 0 button. You have to press it, release it, and then press the 0 button.
