I was given a Stanton STR8-30 turntable, I don't do alot of vinyl play but some and enjoy it, will this table be ok to listen to my records on? I keep hearing this table will damage my records. Thanks

Not sure how a turntable will damage a vinyl record - the turntable merely turns the record at the right speed and it is the user's task to ensure the unit is level, the tone arm is in good order, a suitable cartridge and stylus is installed and the correct adjustment of stylus playing weight has been checked. A record deck is not really a plug-and-play unit but more a hobby; requiring tools (spirit level, magnifier, stylus balance) and a certain amount of skill and knowledge.

Can a Stanton str8-80 tonearm be fitted to a Stanton str8-100?

I am looking at pictures of the both the STR8-80 and STR8-100 and the both have the straight tone arm. So when you say an "s" arm I am a bit confused. The main part of the STR8-80 is the same as the 100. However the 100 has a different base to it, with additional controls such as lock(?) on it.

Having said that here is a guy that has converted the 100 to an S arm with pictures!

About 90% of records i play on my t.92 play perfectly fine. But some records get constant jitter and skips. I've tried to set the anti skate to compensate but it seems like it doesn't even work at all no...

Assuming the records are NOT faulty, then the problem might be the set up of the deck. The way to do this is to get one of the skipping records and set it for playing. For the moment set the anti skate to the neutral position or off. If the record is jumping, take it off the record and turn the weight control (on the end of the arm) up slightly just a touch. If you check out out the specifications of the cartridge it should suggest an ideal weight setting for it. If you like you can start with that, before making any more adjustments. If you are starting with the ideal weight and it still jumps, increase the weight by a slight amount and test the record. You keep doing this till the record stays in the groove, but does not rumble. I find headphones ideal for this testing. If it does rumble the weight is too much.
It's a slow process but it's the only way really. You can set the anti skate control after you have got the weight right.
But a slightly worn stylus and a bit of dust can cause a record to jump, but not on all records. Some records are also better made than others too, so would be more sensitive to the wear.
